Rescue Me/Save Me Ep 1-2 Discussion Post

Synopsis: A girl is surrounded by suspicious people and quietly whispers, “Save me!” in a dark neighborhood alleyway, and a couple of unemployed youths hear her and run to her rescue. They discover that she’s trapped in some kind of pseudo-religious cult and try to help her, but what ensues is a sequence of horrifying tension-filled events that make us wonder more about the science of the human psyche.

i watched this and man it is a lot. it's super heavy and dark but very good as well so far. the way they portray the creepiness of the cult and the leaders is so well done because i really felt it (YIKES disgusting fucks). i also have had no qualms so far with anyone's acting despite there being some doubts going around beforehand about some ppl's abilities.
i rly enjoyed the dynamic of the 4 guys and am hoping sangmi will become closer with them so she'll have someone to fall back on because it hurts me seeing her so alone
i'm definitely gonna continue watching this because it got me hooked

I agree with the previous comment. So far they've been doing a great job depicting the ugliness of cults and how they easily manipulate people. The acting is A+, some scenes made my skin crawl.

It's off to a great start.

Also while I knew this show was going to be dark I wasn't prepared to be crushed emotionally within the first two episodes. Sang Mi having to put her own discomfort aside for her family. The abuse Sang Jin suffered and his suicide was rough to say the least



I feel really attached to Sang Mi already and I got a good vibe of what the cult members are like (they give me the creeps) but the quartet of guy are just kind of there~ rn though I'm sure I'll get a better feel for them as the show progresses.
