I hate that they're calling the one song "Shibuya-kei" because it's not really a singular genre (if you actually listen to the artists who comprised Shibuya-kei at its peak, they all do various types of music), it was movement that happened in Japan in the 90s and people who claim to be fans of it routinely misconstrue that fact. :') if anyone here wants to learn more about it I highly recommend this series of blog posts (http://neojaponisme.com/2004/11/15/the-legacy-of-shibuya-kei-part-one/). /nitpicking

I'm anticipating their cb but some of the talk about their styling is kind of annoying, no shit a group literally named "girlfriend" by their gross CEO would be expressly designed to play out that role for their male fans lol. Fingertip's outfits were pretty revealing but because they were in black/camo and not baby pink they were... somehow magically not intended for the male gaze? I doubt it. :/ At the very least I think they've had a strong image in their own way since debut, I don't expect that to change with this release so I'll just be waiting to see what the song is like.

the whole stance on pastel pink recently is very weird in general and negative/sexualised. im not good at arguing my point but it really annoys me. i study art and did seminars/essays on colour so its reallyyyyyy annoying when people associate that with weakness/fragility/prepubescent/fetish and something "wrong".
