15& Yerin Disses JYP "Adults Here are Laughable & Scary” Before Deleting Her Instagram Account

On July 17, singer Baek Yerin posted to her personal Instagram account and hinted at unhappiness and dissatisfaction with her management agency, JYP Entertainment.



The artist posted a series of photos with the caption, “I have a lot of good songs written, I really want to release an album [and] there are so many people waiting! However, the adults here are laughable and scary.”

After, fans expressed their concern for the singer and left comments comforting Baek Yerin. The singer commented on her own post, letting fans know that she would be deleting her Instagram account for the time being and relayed that she was apologetic to fans.



The singer said, “I am going to delete my Instagram account for the time being! 🙂 I’m sorry to my fans. I know I shouldn’t read netizen comments but I looked hehe. There was so much false information. A lot of things happened but when I disappointed my fans by becoming too close with one of my unni fans, I reflected deeply upon my actions and posted a letter of apology after rewriting it over and over again so that those fans I had hurt would not be hurt again. I am still sorry about that incident to this day.”

She continued, “Now, the ‘controversies’ that netizens talks about are a result of people purposely looking upon my actions in a negative light or a result of posts written to spread malicious rumors. I believe that these rumors cannot be made true just because people say, ‘She did that,’ or, ‘She’s involved in a lot of controversies.”

Baek Yerin also addressed the rumors surrounding her and her 15& partner Jimin, and said, “I did not say those things about Jimin, I have not expressed my personal opinion about music for 15&, and I do not engage with Jimin and other people just for my own personal gain. I don’t understand why people have to hurt me, who they think of as trivial and as having a bad personality, with their hate when they could easily just ignore me; however, I have clearly apologized for everything that I actually have to apologize for and am still deeply apologetic to the fans I have caused grief because of my actions.”

She concluded, “There are times when I can’t sleep at night because of the malicious rumors about me; however, I am thankful to the fans that like my music, that are waiting for me, and care about me. As someone who loves singing more than anyone else, rather than singing alone, I would like to become a source of strength for others. Ridiculous comments seem to hurt my fans more than they hurt me. I’m sorry! 🙂
I will not apologize for things that I haven't done. Thank you!”

Either she is gonna get dropped or forced into recluse mode. This isn't her first time deleting her Instagram either (and she regularly wipes it clean). But now she coming for official heads and they don't like that.

idk why jyp isn't doing anything with her. her last few songs performed really well, didn't they? yerin (and jimin) are always releasing stuff on their own ... how hard would it be for jyp to throw some of those out as digital albums?? at least jimin has a hosting gig, i guess...

i feel pretty bad for her. it's clear she doesn't have the "right" personality for the kpop environment, hence all the "attitude" scandals. she'd be a great indie artist, but idk if she'd be able to get money if she went that route.

tbh she writes good music and she's rlly talented and does well in charts so i don't get what jyp is doing...she and jimin should be allowed to release more on a regular basis but that's obvs not happening

i like her sns a lot because she's just being a genuine young adult w feelings but that's not considered "appropriate" for an idol company

Anyway, this is a bad situation. For Yerin who must be frustrated and unhappy to turn to instagram like that without really thinking of the consequences, and a bit for the company too.
I hope that Yerin manages to get out of her contract and finds a company that suits her better, somewhere not as idol-centred as JYPE and can promote soloists better.
Given how many soloists/artists growing out of their groups left recently, there's something JYPE needs to rethink, even if they're super successful with their current idol groups.

a lot companies are so terrible with handling solos. she has the talent, she has the dream, she wants to be an artist not an idol. it's clear she needs to be apart of a smaller label where ppl have more soul and not just another big company that takes no pride in making music but in having hits. fans are so warped in how they say they want their faves to be happy but any time they get close to anyone, they attack. be happy and isolated and lonely and we love you unnie blahblah

JYP has and is wasting so many people's time, money, and talent these days. Yerin and especially Jimin are too blessed and young to be basically sitting around behind whatever bullshit their agency's releasing these days. And I don't understand how anybody can side with any company that would do this. Don't bother picking up actual artists if you just want idols jfc

yep. They did it with g.soul too and he's put out 2(?) songs already since he left the agency. 15& haven't done anything in years and the girls might get a song here or there, Bernard Park has never seen the light of day. They really just need to get rid of their Studio J division if they're going to sign artists and then not do anything with them. It's always so frustrating hearing about artists who have songs written and want to put music out but they're blocked by their label.

I don't understand what JYP is doing lately. They are basically acting as if their only artists were GOT7 and Twice. I don't understand how such a big company can't manage its other acts while those two groups aren't doing things in Corea.

Seriously, I can't understand companies that have so many acts but put all the eggs in one or two baskets. Don't sign more artists if you can't/don't want to manage them, gosh.

yerin and jimin are two of the most talented girls in JYP and im not understanding why yerin is so mismanaged when every song of hers gets a lot of attention and just her voice and general is legendary

I understand why she keeps getting into the situations however. yerin's one of those people like ga-in who read netizen comments just to defend themselves or see what people are saying about them (usually right after saying/doing something that's viewed as socially unacceptable) and it doesn't make them feel good so they post their thoughts about it. posting your feelings about hate messages or just criticism in general eventually makes your real emotions about it show and makes you come off as a certain type of way. i understand yerin wants to clear up everything but she's young, not promoted enough to really understand what to say and not say in the media, probably feels like she has more leeway than girl groups since she's a soloist so she can say more without ruining her group's rep (even tho its traveling to jimin), and in all like any artist who is being held back by their company is frustrated and upset that they can't release their music to their fans and have to sit there every day looking like they have nothing to show for their inactivity

i love yerin but i know this will be a shit-show ..
