Literally the definition of #whenwillyourfaves, KARD, made their international TV debut tonight in Brazil! They appeared on the show "Programa Raul Gil", a music show, and performed their inofficial debut song "Oh NaNa". They also did a quick interview and danced with kids.

They haven't been on a korean tv show yet but already made their debut in brazil, slay kings & queens!!!!

fuck, what did that mofo say? I'm Brazilian. I barely remembered this show existed but now that I think about it, yeah, Raul Gil's always been trash.

he joked abt asians looking the same, asked if they were relatives; talked about how asians have small eyes (classic); and when he asked what they thought about brazil and bm said "it's beautiful" he also stated that japanese, chinese and korean people don't talk too much. idk if there's more because i was cringing so hard i walked out of the room.
he also talked about how his granddaughter loves kpop and is learning korean in order to go to korea and presented her and her korean teacher to the members, and i was like why??? (i got secondhand embarrassment, but maybe it was just me)
and he ordered the translator to say some stuff to them but whenever she started to speak he cut her off, it was tragic, sometimes the members looked lost.

UGH afgsghj I don't even have the words. I'm so angry and embarrassed, I don't think I have the heart to watch the thing. It's not surprising, I spent all my childhood hearing old Brazilian men casually saying offensive things, I guess I should be relieved he didn't ask about the size of their dicks while he was at it. The fact that he said that stuff on TV to their faces while they had to smile and nod just adds a whole new level to my shame of people like him. Fuck him, brainless filho da puta.

brazilian omonians could give us some sort of reference about this show relevance ... in other latino references this could be like the best times of sabado gigante (for latinos in usa) or video match (for argentinians) golden days lol

they became a global trendy topic while the show was airing few hours ago

I remember watching this show with my great grandmother when there was nothing else on lol. I must have been like 9 years old or smth. I was getting nostalgic and enjoying how surreal this feels, but now I'm freaked out because a commenter above you said Raul Gil had made some cringey jokes or smth? And, fuck, I love my country but when it comes to cultural sensitivity we SUCK, so I'm bracing myself :(

because of the trendic topic thing??
oh no, they did nothing special beside dancing with those kids .... trendic topic was pure kpop fans hype on twitter lol as soon kard segment was over their hashtag dissapeared
all i know about this show (and the main reason why i compared it to sabado gigante) is that they spend literally all saturday afternoon on air .... like a long ass 6-7 hrs show lol

oh no, I don't mean the twitter thing, that's good! I meant that someone mentioned that the MC of the show said some cringey things to/about KARD. I haven't had time to watch the segment yet so maybe it's nothing, but it wouldn't be the first time I've seen Brazilians have a questionable sense of humor around foreigners *siiigh*

Yeah, there were some looong shows on the weekends. It's been a while since I watched any latin-am tv but in Brazil there was also Domingão on Sundays that lasted all afternoon. and it sucked lol. there are some gems in brazilian tv but def not these weekend variety shows.

The MC is so cringy and embarrassing I'm just glad I'm Spanish and can't understand 100% of what he's saying.

Thank you for the link.

They look so unconfortable and the guy is so.... avasallador (I don't know how to say it in english nor in portugues, lol). J.seph looks so unconfortable when the old man keeps grabbing his arm, and they in general look so lost because he doesn't allow the translator to do her job.

Also, I was laughing so hard at him asking with no shame if they are dating each other, and then asking the fans why are they screaming just because they are single when it's not like they are going to marry them anyway lol.

Anyway, it was a good exposure for them.

LOL I still can't believe that a kpop act went to raul gil.
I actually can't believe raul gil' show still exists to being with..... I don't think I can watch it. too much secondhand embarrassment (with the show, not kard, of course)

really? lol
it's such an interesting choice from the show tbh... kpop demographic here is not the show audience, so I'm really confused lol the team who produced their tour here probably has close ties with the production of the show/channel and scored this.

The MC is the fucking worst. But he is always doing his best as a grandpa to bring kpop stuff to Brazil since his grandaughter loves kpop. lol
Too bad they didn't sing much live and looked quite out of it. Brazil is a huge country so traveling back and forth to many cities is hella tiring. Although there is a majority of ignorant people regarding cultural insensitivity here, we still have some great people that are pretty vocal about this stuff. I always prefer to watch the specialized youtubers interviewing kpop acts, bc the most of them have tact while dealing and respecting the differences and boundaries. Overall, Raul Gil is an open tv program, from the 2nd (or 3rd?) Most famous chanel here, so that was a great feat.

*now, being OT here, I just saw the instagram history of Pabllo Vitar (a trendy trans singer here) and he was jamming to Black Pink lol
