one of the most fascinating things for me in this fandom (and I will comment here just because is wanna one most recent post. not directly related to their v live) is how ongniel is such a HUGE thing and I always feel like I missed something. I watched the whole show, the extra videos, fancams here and there and I never saw "content" that could draw such a huge reaction from fans? I like both of them and I'm here for this ship, but I honestly feel like I'm missing a huge part of the puzzle lol

I think these "out of the show" moments helped a lot in making the pairing popular and I didn't know about them. I could see they got along well and were probably in each other group of close friends in the whole show, but nothing that could give such a crazy response from fans lol I got into the p101/wanna one ship late, but I always saw things about them so I think I went to watch expecting 100% exposed bromance, but it was def not like that lol even the moments from the show that this thread posted are still subtle IMO. when you think of them separately, they look way more strong than when you watched them in the show.

don't worry about it! I'm happy to help. :) it was kind of one of those "you had to be there" things. like you had to experience the fandom getting excited about the pairing as new episodes came out to really get into it the way a lot of people do. some fans really kept an eye out for their interactions and would post about it after. it wasn't instantaneous, excitement just grew as they grew closer. their hand holding during the Get Ugly performance results, them going out together to take pictures at their billboards, and their hug at the finale were the big shipping moments, everything else is pretty subtle.

I also think one of the reasons the pairing got as big as they did was because shipping and promoting them together was a way to get people to vote for them. People wanted them to debut together, so some would split their votes. The same thing happened for the other big ship, WinkDeep (Jihoon & Jinyoung).

oh yeah, winkdeep is another ship that I just couldn't get, but, just like you said, watching everything happening as the show goes def makes a difference in our perception of these pairings. they're all cute so I don't really mind having people super excited about them on my timeline, even if I feel like an outsider to the party LOL

it was so short but so cute~~ seems like they have a good dynamic going already, which makes sense considering how much time they spent together already. hope they're getting enough rest and everything. i can't wait to see more of their interactions!
