Happy weekend, Omona! After months of no info and numerous comments asking about Kai's KBS drama, Andante, we finally have word on when it's airing. Check out the post below for the answer. (Shameless tactic to get you to click on my post? Most definitely.)
This week marked the ending of four dramas (Fight My Way, Lookout, Suspicious Partner and Ruler: Master of the Mask), which means we have another week full of premieres. On Monday, School 2017 premieres on KBS and The King Loves on MBC. Man Who Dies to Live takes over the Wednesday slot for MBC, with Reunited Worlds airing on SBS the same day. My Sassy Girl airs its last episodes this week.
EXO member Kai’s new drama is gearing up for its upcoming premiere!
“Andante,” which also stars Baek Chul Min, Kim Jin Kyung, Sung Byung Sook, Jun Mi Sun, and Kim Kwang Sik, is set to greet viewers in October.
Kai’s new drama is about a city kid who becomes a transfer student at a suspicious high school located in the countryside. At the school, Kai’s character encounters a variety of unfamiliar experiences and learns what it means to truly live life and the meaning of love.
“Andante” is set to air through KBS 1TV in October.
Good news: Yoo Yeon-seok is coming back in a new drama, and it’s hit writer Kim Eun-sook’s upcoming blockbuster period drama Mr. Sunshine. Bad news: He’s been cast to play a tragic character who falls in love with the heroine.
Mr. Sunshine is the latest project from writer Kim Eun-sook and PD Lee Eung-bok of The Lonely Shining Goblin and Descended From the Sun, and it’s a historical drama set in the early 1900s about the “righteous army” that sprang up to defend the country as Japan exerted more and more dominance over Korea. Lee Byung-heon has signed on to headline as a character who gets taken to the U.S. as a young boy following the 1871 Shinmiyangyo armed conflict, and years later returns to Joseon, the country that abandoned him. While stationed in Joseon as a U.S. soldier, he meets a young aristocratic lady. Rising film actress Kim Tae-ri has been cast to play the young lady who is the last of the noble Go family bloodline, one of the pillars of the nation.
Yoo Yeon-seok is confirmed to co-star as the son of a lowly butcher who flees his homeland and goes to Japan in search of a new life. He’s described as a tragic character who falls in love with Kim Tae-ri’s aristocratic young lady, and will risk everything for his love.
Mr. Sunshine is in the works for an early 2018 premiere.
Heartwarming weekend family drama Father Is Strange is getting an extra couple of episodes—not a surprise, given that it’s killing the ratings right now (breaking 30% ratings on a couple occasions) and getting tons of viewership support.
According to a rep from KBS’s drama department, the two-episode extension (which brings its total count up to 52) means the show will wrap on Sunday, August 27, rather than the week before. (This past weekend just aired Episodes 37 and 38, to give you an idea of where we are.) That puts the follow-up show, My Golden Life starring Park Shi-hoo and Shin Hye-sun, at a September premiere.

I'm working on getting posts up in the next few days with previews etc for the new dramas premiering this week so you can check them out and see if you want to pick any of them up. Personally, I'm only watching 3 dramas at the moment and am behind on all of them, what is happening to me.
