yep, this. It makes sense to me that they've been experimenting with the same kind of sound before they debut. I don't mind them sticking to the same genre for their first mini-album ever. If they release a 2nd album without changing the style at all then I'll agree it's tiresome, but so far, so good imo. I like what they're doing with the tropical house/reggae/reggaeton influences.
