Monsta X Hyungwon to take a break from activities due to health issues

MONSTA X’s Hyungwon unfortunately has to take a break from the group’s activities in order to recover from a health issue.

Shortly before 11 p.m. KST on July 7, MONSTA X’s fan cafe updated with a message from Starship Entertainment that first included an apology to fans for having to convey bad news ahead of MONSTA X’s first world tour “BEAUTIFUL.”


“Hello. This is Starship Entertainment.

We are first sorry to bring you unfortunate news.
At a time where meeting with fans around the world (has been planned) ahead
Through Monsta X’s First World Tour “Beautiful”.

While proceeding today’s Music Bank schedule in the afternoon, we have found a small edema on member Hyungwon’s knee.
As a result of getting a check-up after being brought to the hospital straight away, he has been diagnosed with early stage cellulitis.
We have decided for an immediate hospitalization following the doctor’s view of the present bacteria being able to spread rapidly if cellulitis is not given a proper treatment during the early stage.
We are planning to focus on resting and treatments for Hyungwon’s fast recovery starting from today.
After today on Monsta X’s schedule, only 6 members are planning to participate.

And we’re once again truly sorry to the Hong Kong fans who have waited a very long time for Monsta X’s world tour.
We will try our hardest so that the 7 members as a whole will be able to participate on the rest of the schedule as Hyungwon recovers from his injury.

i really hope the doctor emphasized a lot of rest and that starship won't push/let him try and promote/tour w the rest of the group until he's actually fully healed and not just like 80% better

i hate the “i'll get on stage soon again” thing and i'd rather him sitting out for the us tour, at least, but i know better than to trust management companies, so we'll see

cellulitis is not fun. i've known too many people that get it. it hurts really bad and take a while to get out of your system. i hope he gets well soon. :(

idt you usually get hospitalised for cellulitis so it must be quite bad. he's gonna need more than 4 days, smh. starship 😡
