I'm just acknowledging that, while her music without the visual spectacle bores me to tears, everything else about her is immaculate. I've seen her live, I know lol. So yeah, people who don't share my opinion (on her songs) are truly blessed and need look no further, you're truly getting everything. It may be shady but it's a compliment at the end of the day! I did like self-titled the most out of her albums, if that makes it better, and B'day was cute too.

CL'd better be preparing a double visual album directed by Baz Luhrmann or else.

What artist tied to a big company doesn't use that for fame? Very few (almost none?) artists get to leave large companies in the middle of their contracts on amicable terms the way he did, so what ever happened it worked out for the better for him unlike say Jessica with regards to music shows. He definitely noped out though you're right about that.

I don't know, obviously, but as someone who's followed them since before debut, I would say he wanted to debut and go through all the standard boy ground stuff, it was only after they had done all that that it seems like he started wanting out, and I guess that makes sense given YG's delays and their more than year long hiatus post-debut etc. (this is also what self-proclaimed ~insiders say on Chinese forums.)

Definitely agree, idols are often just kids and I don't blame them at all for getting in over their heads in a business that doesn't give a shit about them. In WINNER's case there was probably also "more" disillusionment because they had such a great debut (fastest to no1 ever) and they were with YG so they probably thought things would be different. They had the 1 year 5 month hiatus that followed their debut probably soured them because it was so illogical. I had no idea about Taehyun's possible problems with being an idol during that time though not more than the others at least, but and for their only cb with TH (where he wrote the title songs) this stuff became more apparent to the fandom. I still didn't think it would end the way it did though, but lots of ICs claim they saw it coming so I'm probably not the best judge lol.

I'm a fan of WINNER, and while Namtae was always my least fave of the group, from watching WIN and their other shows, I think he did genuinely want to be an idol. I think he was just young, an when he got more exposure to producing (through YG) and other forms of music, and then experiencing the backlash from the public over his scandals, I think he made the best of the situation for himself and left. Although I do think he was also a bit pushed out. Like, let's take YG at their word for a minute and agree that Namtae does have mental health issues that were causing difficulty for the group or the company. I can see staff pushing him to "shape up or get out". I know we feel like YHS threw Taehyun under the bus, but I do think Namtae decided (for whatever reason) that being an idol in that environment was no longer what he wanted. And YHS did support Namtae in an insta post, so basically, I think the company TPTB wanted Taehyun out if he didn't start acting a certain way, and I think Namtae decided to leave b/ of that and b/c he was starting to become interested in other music genres and art expressions. Like, if you remember back to when he initially left the group, there was a bit of the company pushing him under the bus, and Namtae sounded really sad about his decision to leave WINNER, but then he decided to try and pursue his fanasy band, and now we're here.

/Obviously, this is a lot of projection and speculation on my and other fan's behalf. But I don't think he joined WINNER planning on leaving the group once he got some popularity. I think he thought at the time that he suited and wanted the idol life.

Thanks for your comment! I literally know nothing about WINNER, past I have their songs downloaded. I was just curious how people see the situation. Honestly I wouldn't blame him even if he did use YG to have a boost to be able to make his own successful group or whatever. What you say makes sense I guess. I can't really see a company wanting to set someone free though. (Seems to..... easy and.... nice.)

I keep thinking about Taka and how he left NewS and is now in ONE OK ROCK ahhaha. Hopefully Taehyun will be just as successful.
