Former “Produce 101 Season 2” trainee Ha Min Ho previously had to leave the show and his agency for allegedly trying to engage in sexual relationships with underage fans and sexually harassing his ex-girlfriend in middle school.

On June 20, Ha Min Ho took to his Instagram account to post an apology regarding the whole controversy.

Below is the full statement:

“Hello, this is former ‘Produce 101 Season 2’ contestant Ha Min Ho.

First of all, I sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt by the recent controversy. I feel responsible for my improper behavior so I am taking the time to reflect on my actions. I’m sorry for causing so much trouble.

In middle school and high school, I was an immature student who lacked consideration for others. I was just a big frog in a small pond that lived in his own little world. I bragged that I did music, and I thought of myself very highly whenever I was praised for being in a dance group. I also acted rashly every time I was romantically interested in someone.

These immature actions continued on even after I joined ‘Produce 101.’ I said some inappropriate things to my fans and I was so focused on trying to gain love and popularity instead of reflecting on whether I even deserved this love. After reading people’s comments on my social media accounts, I realized how hurt and angry they were, and I had sleepless nights for a few weeks because I was so ashamed.

However, it is not true that I changed my Facebook account name to ‘Yoo Seon Ho’ to target the trainee. I did not talk dirty, verbally harass, or ostracize anyone in middle school. I never called a female student a slut, and I did not sexually harass or try to sleep with a student much younger than me. These are false accusations, but I am still holding responsibility for everything since they have all stemmed from my mistakes.

I am very sorry to those who had voted for me, and I apologize to the Mnet staff for causing disruption to their program. I will self-reflect for the rest of my life. However, I do want to say that I have received quite a few defaming comments based on misunderstandings.

I will try my best to become a more careful and mature person. Thank you for reading my long message.

I get he's probably trying to gain something from the end of the show and all the hype, but this is such a random time for him to be apologizing, saying he will reflect or even talking about what happened. if someone reads this not knowing anything, will think his scandal happened during the final broduce ep.

I never know how to react to these situations. Like on the one hand I'm glad the person is apologizing and I do believe people can change and learn from their mistakes, but on the other hand fuck you, you probably scarred someone for life and you don't deserve to be successful because karma. idk I feel very strongly about this because being really close to someone who went through something very similar to what Ha Min Ho ex did (including no one believing her), it's horrible seeing the person who hurt you be all "woops sorry won't do it again i'm so ashamed" and walk away with very few consequences while you have to deal with the lifelong impact of whatever they did to you.

Regardless of how I feel, I hope he's sincerely apologizing and it's not "reflecting" like most idols do, aka "the only thing I'm sorry for is that you guys found out so I'm gonna hide until you forget about it".

I don't have much sympathy for him. "I was a different person back then but I'm still sorry!" doesn't mean much when "back then" was literally a few months ago lmao. The way he tried to manipulate that young fan into sleeping with him and all that "Well if you're not going to fuck me then I don't want to talk anymore" was disgusting. I don't think the type of guy who tries to guilt trip and coerce women into sex ever really changes. It shows they don't see women as people but as tools to achieve orgasm.
