Drama News Round Up
2017-06-16 04:10 pm"Man to Man" finished its run on JTBC last weekend, paving way for "Woman of Dignity", starring Kim Sun Ah and Kim Hee Sun, which starts this weekend. "My Only Love Song", reuniting We Got Married couple Gong Seungyeon and Lee Jonghyun, premiered last week on Netflix.
Director Kim Hyung-shik, who helmed Twenty Again, is returning to dramaland with a new project for tvN, tentatively titled About Time. The station is still in negotiations over when to air the upcoming fantasy romance, but there’s a good chance we could see it on the airwaves as early as this fall.
There hasn’t been much revealed on the plot, and it sounds like the producers themselves are still working out the details of the story, but the general narrative will revolve around the concept of moments of true love, and the magical quality about them, though in this case, the “magic” might be more literal than figurative. Our heroine will have the unfortunate ability of seeing the “life clocks” of everyone around her, including herself, and the hero will somehow be able to stop her “time” without lifting a finger. This story will follow time that is stopped, extended, and even erased through the love they have for each other. About Time’s unnamed writer is a rookie and will make their debut with this show.
The Korea Communication Standards Commission is currently reviewing a kiss scene from KBS 2TV’s weekend drama, “Father Is Strange.”
On June 12, a representative from the commission revealed that complaints were filed for the kiss scene between Lee Joon and Jung So Min that aired on June 11, saying that the scene depicts sexual harassment in the workplace.
In the scene, Ahn Joong Hee (Lee Joon) ends up being late to set because of Byun Mi Young (Jung So Min). Later, for filming, Ahn Joong Hee gets kiss marks drawn on his face. The director points out that the lip marks look too fake, and tells Byun Mi Young to kiss Ahn Joong Hee to create the marks instead. When Byun Mi Young hesitates to do so, the director mentions how she showed up late to set. After Byun Mi Young kisses Ahn Joong Hee on the cheeks, the director asks for one more on Ahn Joong Hee’s lips, and once more pushes her to do so when she hesitates.
Although the scene was to show the two characters developing feelings toward each other, viewers voiced concerns for the apparent depiction of sexual harassment in the workplace.

Lots of potential castings floating around this week but I'm waiting confirmation before I make posts. I made the decision to move some dramas to "on hold" this week, so now I'm only watching...6?
