Synopsis
Yoo Hyun-Jae (Yoon Si-Yoon) is a member of a popular idol group. He has a lot of fans and he is a scandal maker. Meanwhile, Lee Ji-Hoon (Kim Min-Jae) is an aspiring singer. He pretends to be studying for his civil servant exam, but he is actually struggling to become an idol.

The ttakbam scene *face palm*. I'm sitting there thinking, are we really doing this? I guess we are. Lmao. That Goblin Grim Reaper reference was hilarious. When he Hyunjae popped up and scared poor Grandpa Soontae, I was laughing so hard. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be funny because stage fright is no joke, but MC Drill's evaluation... I cringed so hard, but I couldn't help but laugh just a bit. He said 'Yo' about 80 times. And I'm right there with the confusion regarding why Jihoon didn't get a spot. I felt sad that Wooseung studied so hard just to go out like that on the exam because she had to use the bathroom.

I'm guessing there's a love line between Jihoon and Hyeri since Hyunjae and Wooseung have already cringetastically kissed everyday since they met, lol. And also because I want Wooseung and Jihoon to happen, so it won't.

I'm Park Youngjae when he says "The Chains.....WHAT?" Exactly. Chainsmokers and Hip Hop shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence. Full stop. Why doesn't he just say I want a New Jack Swing sound? Lol..sheesh. I wonder who it was that paged Hyunjae. Is it possible that it was someone paging him from the past?

I'm confused about Bohee and Gwangjae. Did a one-nighter lead to Jihoon or were they together and not together anymore? Or are they together and just don't share rooms? Because if it's the latter, what kind of perfect and ideal marriage? I feel like Wooseung could have at least felt up the container a bit to see if her hand was actually putting the candy inside, lol. Question, is that one of the Unnies who is MJ's fan? Every time I see her, I start laughing. She's really great for the role she's in, lol. I'm so sad Hyunjae got his ass whooped by sasaengs, lmao. He didn't have a chance.

I wonder what's gonna happen since Gwangjae's seen him. Now there's about 4 people who he actually knew that are aware of him walking and breathing when he's supposed to be dead.

Highlights of this weeks episodes were:

Ji Hoon's victory over Hyun Jae during the forehead flicking scene being a delusion was hilarious. I legit thought he had one for a moment there lol.

The Goblin references/Hyun Jae scaring people.

That scene were we see that Hyun Jae and Ji Hoon have the same sleeping positions.

Hyuan Jae's obsession with cellphones (his wifi search was very relatable).

Ji Hoon's rapping (I was so bummed when he didn't make it onto the debut team).

That fight in the convenience store was epic and tragic lol. Though I'm assuming that what Hyun Jae said to MJ is going to be important some how since we saw that info being passed onto the ceo guy.

I felt so bad for Wooseung. She got food poisoning all because she eat an egg off the floor (I'm assuming that's why that scene was shown and it couldn't have been the bar since it's technically fresh) leading to her not being able to complete her test, fell into the water and lost her contact lens, Hyun Jae abandons her due to distraction (and yet he seems to get that a woman left alone in a vulnerable state is a bad thing by the end of the episode so this bit was even more annoying in hindsight), and then she got fired from her convenience store job.

I did think it was the bar at first until I remembered the egg scene. I also thought she eat one in a previous episode and was fine but I could be misremembering it since if that had been the case Hyun Jae would have brought that up to defend himself. The bar could also have been fiber heavy instead of being poisonous~.

I thinking about this way too much lol.

Is this show nice? Asking cause I watched ard 20 mins of the first episode and I have to admit I was abit bored. Perhaps cause it took Yoon si yoon's character some time to properly appear on screen lol

i like it but yeah, i'll admit that the beginning episode (1 & 2) was a little slow. i think they would've been better off introducing ysy's char first and then introducing the other parts of the ensemble

I'm enjoying it so far, but that's because I didn't have any particular expectations going in. I wasn't watching it for anyone in particular, for once, and just thought it'd be a funny show, lol.

Oooooh! That's .....hmmm.....I mean, I didn't get that Hyunjae was into Bohee like that after the kiss, but I could have been completely wrong. That'd be interesting, but it makes sense as to why HJ ran into JH first and not Gwangjae.

I'm pretty sure at the end of the second ep when the gang first meets Hyun Jae when they almost hit him with the car the narration says "this is my first meeting with my father". That plus them having the same watch, showing them sleeping the same way etc is supposed to show how they're connected. Honestly, it makes this weird family unit even more confusing to me though haha. I even tried looking up a relationship chart and I'm super lost.

there was a bit where hyunjae was like, “but he doesn't look anything like him!” in regards to gwangjae (& jihoon) in the 5th (maybe?, don't quote me) episode and the familial unit as of now is really complicated so tbh that's one of the things that makes me think that

and also the picture frame w/ bohee's note on it. unless it's unrequited on her side which... doesn't really make sense to me—esp., since gwangjae is big into bohee? and not in the they're married way, it seemed more unrequited to me, and the grandpa was like giving gwangjae all that advice & bringing the trainee girls along if he wanted to make a move, etc etc. the casting for jihoon + hyunjae is too similar for really... entertain a lot else, tbh

i'm still wondering if i should start this drama. i saw some pretty funny caps and i want to pick up new drama but i'm really not feeling ysy after that drama that he did with sae ron and his comments on their age difference.
