It was revealed today that Kangin's indictment was suspended.

To put it simply, the crown attorney of this case decided to not prosecute him for it. It still stays on the record and will be used against him in the future if he gets charged. Basically, if he gets charged for another crime, his punishment will increase for causing trouble way too many times. This means that Kangin is off the hook for the bar fight but his punishment for hit-and-run will most likely increase because he was not punished for the fight.

The hit-and-run case is still being processed by the crown attorney's office.

If he doesn't get in trouble for the hit and run case there will be outrage. He should have got some community service for the fight. I don't know if they have that or not but he should have got it.

Yes, it was determined to be self defense but because he still threw punches it was a disturbance of the peace. Therefore any sentence or punishment would have been less severe than if he had instigated the fight.

I think it's just saying he's not being charged for the bar fight, but they haven't decided on anything for the hit-and-run accident.
However, since he's not being punished for the fight the court may decide to punish him worse for the hit-and-run because he got out of the fight case (which honestly is the part I don't get. Either punish him for one thing or don't).
