I haven't watched this season but I listened to the song and it is a bop. But isn't this basically Got7's esthetic sound for this comback. Maybe because their title names are so similar it tricked my mind into thinking the songs sound similar too. Not plagerizing to any extent just something is similar. The rapper sounds a bit like Jackson too. Am I crazy?

TBH I thought both Never and Open Up had a bit of Got7 vibe and dance moves.
Also I really think they made Daniel's make up like JB's, I got a bit confused.

But also I don't follow a lot of kpop, so I didn't know if it was just my limited exposure.

I'm not a fan of GOT7, I only know one of their songs- but I thought the song was pretty generic for a kpop boy group. IMO its what most groups do, so I never really even thought of GOT7.. it just sounded like a normal kpop song nowadays.

Even if Pentagon kept the song the result wouldnt be the same anyway - it's about exposure&hype and Pentagon, sadly, has none of it. This way atleast Hui can make some royalties or maybe future opportunities.
