Signal 7th win on M Countdown, Twice's 40th win overall

It was a really fun encore stage with Day6 members Young K and Wonpil, who were special MCs this time. One of them forgets to give away the trophy, Chaeyoung has to ask for it. Then Nayeon bullies them into staying for the encore. Twice tried to get them to dance to Signal, and I guess they didn't really know it because it just turned into a messy medley of past Twice dances.

Does anyone know why it seems okay for Twice to interact with Day6 in the open, and for them to talk about each all the time without worrying about fans' reaction, but not with other JYPE boy groups? Even before the BamMina thing there were hardly any interactions between Twice & G7 when they clearly know each well.. so what's the difference?

probably bc got7 is marketed in a different way than day6. while day6 is arguably still an idol group, got7 caters more to teenage fangirls (and of course twice caters to fanboys as well) so twice are seen as threats to oppas (same with got7 seen as threats to twice). i feel like it's also bc of day6's more mature image as well. however, i'm surprised twice's fanboys don't seem to have problems with them hanging out so openly

IDK if I've only been exposed to the good side, but so far I feel like Twice's fanboys are kinda chill. A few days ago I saw a translation of a comment made by a fanboy with a message of support and it included something along the lines of "when you date I hope you'll date someone who loves you and will treat you right.." or sth.. and it had thousands of upvotes, Tho I suppose saying and doing are different things.

It's all marketing and perspective. Audiences don't look at Got7 the same way as Day6. Day6 is less of a threat to the fan illusion of chastity.

I can't say I pay much attention to BGs and their image, so I wouldn't know how they're marketed tbh. But does this different marketing thing affect other agencies as well? Like do RV and say EXO not have much interaction, or is this just a jype thing?

different commenter but the only rv x exo interactions i can think of are for cfs or photoshoots—for example, they did a sketchers cf (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuOE-RvGSaQ) they did together which rv isn't even in that much, and there was an irene & sehun ceci photoshoot (http://www.redvelvetupdates.com/post/137629391171/scans-ceci-korea-feb-2016-issue-exos-sehun)

mx and some of wjsn are models (?) for a phone company and a super grp called yteen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JX48ClBg9E) was formed but there's not much known interactions between them, either. there was a yteen fanmeet and their interactions there were limited, they did the dance (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZz60gj92D0) together but that's all i remember for that. there was also an i.m/luda dating rumor post on pann (eta: it was instiz) & i believe some ppl dropped her for that

so i would say companies are careful with bg/gg interactions, with fandom culture, because it can be damaging to their reps, as with dating rumors. members of pristin/svt are friends too and it's the same thing with them, limited interactions wise

yeah. ia. it usually depends on the ~situation, i think, or how the company wants to promote a newer group. like with sm: they used to pair up their most recently debuted boy / girl groups with each other "brother / sister" groups to one another. tvxq + csjh, super junior + snsd, shinee + f(x) but they stopped after shinee and f(x). like technically it should be exo + rv, but they've only had that sketchers cf (like you mentioned) and a few random interactions here and there. i know that there were a lot of issues with the suju + snsd crossover so they weren't pushed as hard as, let's say, shinee and f(x) were. there was a point between 2010 - 2012 where they did a ton of performances and endorsements together. (ex: eitthoo, h2, etude house with just krystal and sulli.)

sometimes i wonder if sm halted on having exo / rv do more together because exo's fanbase was ... at it's worse, imo, around the time that rv debuted, plus it wasn't long after baekhyun / taeyeon's ~*dating scandal happened so maybe they were wary of having them interact with other female idols under the company? which is bs, but whatever. the only sm boy group that interacts with all of the girl groups is shinee at this rate, like different members of shinee are openly close with members of all sm groups (specifically jonghyun and key) and they share an endorsement through the saem with rv right now.

Day6 fandom likely not big (rabid) enough to be a problem. They don't do the same "fandom my girlfriend thing" to my knowledge.

Aww, the daytwice interactions were cute. Wonpil is so adorable. I wish girl group x boy group interactions weren't so rare. These people should have the freedom to have normal interactions in public without fear of fans being outraged.
