this is a tiny bit late - obviously not by much, but it's already the 26th in korea, so. i figured it'd be best to wait until all the anniversary material was out there to us. the fanmeet / party for their anniversary was held last sunday; there's not much material from it though because of banned fantakens, etc. so anything above is all we've got to work with for now.

fast update on what shinee are up to right now: key is obviously filming his drama, lookout, which just started airing earlier this week. onew and minho are currently in singapore, potentially filming for a variety show. taemin is in japan preparing for his solo comeback there and his first solo concert which be at the start of july. jonghyun just finished promoting his recently released album and he's preparing for his new solo concert series - which actually starts today! twenty concerts taking place from today until early july. beyond this: their tour is still ongoing, but it'll probably end soon, and they're slated to have a comeback sometime during the third quarter of the year. (my personal speculation is sometime around september.)

I can't believe shinee are 9!!!! I'm so happy and proud of them. I was thinking yesterday how during a certain pt so many people kept saying they were going to disband and it broke my heart, but seeing them grow and obviously come to term with issues is lovely. I love them!! I'm glad they go to celebrate their anni together and I love that key tells us about it.

This year I want a comeback and a few variety appearances and for a concert to happen AFTER they officially release their album instead of how it's been the past two years. Odd wasn't that bad, but I feel like they should do in encore concert in SK or something so k-fans can hear the songs on 1of1 and 1and1 live and so I can get fancams lol. I hope onew gets his solo album, I want it TT but I'm so happy he's going to be on Age of Youth s2! Idk, I'm just happy with how they are right now and just want them to be happy so I hope they are.

shinee really sneaked up on me the last two years and now i love them a lot. i feel like a fake fan though because i haven't seen a lot of their variety appearances.

their music is so consistent, but next to basically all of the songs from 1of1 and view i really love one minute back and replay. but when i saw them live at kcon i screamed the most during beautiful and lucifer.

Happy anniversary to these 5 beauties. I can't name a single favorite moment or event or song because there's too much to choose from which is why I love them. I'm amazed at all 5 of them and how they've handled being in the biz since they were kids until now and how they've managed to stay together without extended drama aka the kpop way. Truly exceptional and innovative SM kings indeed.

happy ninth anniversary to the group that turned me into a fan of the mess called kpop. if i hadn't discovered them i wouldn't have traveled as much and to the places that i have, i wouldn't have met the amazing people that i have, and my life would've been sooo different. so much has happened just because i watched the lucifer mv six years ago.

my favorite shinee album is the lucifer album but my favorite songs are romeo + juliette and a-yo. i've been lucky enough to see them live three times (kpop masters, kcon, swc in la) but it's never enough tbh. they're so talented and they put on such a great show that it's addicting.

Idk wtf happened with the videos (maybe it's only for me?) but I'm glad the eternal bop Lollipop is somehow included in the "important moments" section.

I've only been back into kpop for less than a year now but I know for a fact Shinee are the only boy group that truly matters. Best part about them is that somehow they keep improving, I like every comeback more than the one before (except the Misconception series, didn't care for those at all, but I know they're fan faves).

My favorite era music-wise is 1 and 1 but style wise I have to go with Everybody, that one was everything.

I have ONE complaint though. Why are some of the solo albums so much better than the group ones? It's totally my opinion only ofc but I rarely can listen to a Shinee album from start to finish, their album cut are not my thing because I think they excel at upbeat songs yet their albums can be midtempo at best overall. Meanwhile Taemin killed his solos and I gave Jonghyun's She Is album a shot yesterday and that one was pretty damn good too, much more enjoyable overall than group projects. So what gives?

Favourite songs? Because I have been fan for less than a year I still mostly listen to Odd and 1 of 1 albums lol. I really have to listen to their older work more. But I have to say that the songs that I've literally been obsessed with are 1 of 1 (hence my username) and Romance, like I literally listened them on repeat for days lol. I also love Jonghyun's and Taemin's solo music, their songs are great and show their personality really well.










I really need to watch Drinking Solo, I haven't seen it. From what I've seen I love Key's acting in Lookout tho.

this is a beautiful day that gave birth to not one, but two wonders of this world; shinee and me! (it's my birthday too lol)

but anyway! i'm incredibly happy that best live performers in kpop are doing well. ring ding dong was probably a second kpop song i've heard and i haven't been the same since. i was an embarrassing shawol between 2010 and 2012. all that love is still in me. i had the biggest fattest crush on onew at the time. my friends are still laughing about it and he's still my favourite best boy. shinee is one of my top boygroups and I couldn't be happier about it.

If I didn't hear reply in a month and then i play it i can guarantee i am going to cry. this is not an exaggeration, it's a fact. i still go crazy in the club when lucifer or sherlock comes in (tbh sherlock is my favourite single of theirs).

i hope i'll see their 15th anniversary and as many more as they'll be willing to give us <3

happy 9th anniversary!!!!!!!! wow, time flies!! i've known them for 6~7 years, but i liked kpop in general so long casually that it was until lil more than 2 years ago that i rlly got v hard into shinee and they immediately became my bias group, i've got so much love for these boys, their music and them as people gave (and still give) me so much motivation and inspiration to do well and to work hard for what i want <3 fave song? both lucifer and view; i've been listening it since forever (and made me notice shinee in the first place) and view bc that song (+ era) made me became a shawol :) i rlly hope that next year around this time, SHINee will get that group vacation taemin has talked about on various occasions (and perhaps do a group variety like 2pm did this year^^)

The second kpop group I ever "discovered" (watched two SNSD music videos before clicking on a SHINee one), but truly the one that dragged me into the kpop rabbit hole. Can't even remember what the music video was, but after watching it I somehow got to watching interviews and variety show appearances and after that there was no turning back.

Ahhh Shinee. I remember when I first saw them performed Replay in 2008 I was like eww their singing is so bad, but now they are one of the best kpop groups in singing live, it has been fun watching them grow. My fav title track is Dream Girl, best combo of song and choreo, that comeback was everythinggg. Fav song ever is Symptoms damn I NEED to see this performed live. I also super dig their Japanese ballads, so my fav album is Boys Meet U (although their Japanese stuff tend to be a bit cheesy). My friend and I have "go to Japan and attend a Shinee dome concert" on our bucket lists. I just want them to come up with a bop this year, wasn't really feeling 1of1 & TMWTD soz

I was just getting into K-pop and turning into a hardcore Cassie when SM released SHINee's debut teaser. The beat hooked me from the start and they've been my babies ever since. If DBSK are my eternal oppas, SHINee are my forever babies. I'm forever thankful for their mostly consistent good music over the years.

My fave songs from them are Replay, Romeo+Juliette, Hyeya, Your Name, 1000 years, Symptoms, and so many more that I can't remember from the top of my head.

I think it'd be easier to give a time frame and say the songs I don't like (2013 - Now; Boys Meet U, Aside, An Encore), lol. RDD was the first song (and first MV I watched) I heard by SHINee though. It has a special place in my fantastic and elastic heart.

things you want for shinee in the coming year
- Um...not really in the coming year, but I'd like to see sub-units? Considering how long they've been together, I'm kinda curious why that's never been an option for them. Honestly speaking, it could be an internal decision (their music tastes don't match enough) or a business decision (SM doesn't believe a SHINee sub-unit would do well), but I thought by now we'd at least have more experimental tracks among the members.

- I've not given up on the idea of an Onew solo, but I've long accepted that him doing one or not could also be a personal decision or a business one.

- I want great health, success, and the most general definition of happiness for them as well.
