May 20 - Korean press interviewed Steven Yeun about his role in the film while at Cannes. He insists on trying his best to answer in Korean but ends up mixing in a lot of English, then apologizes for confusing everyone, especially his interpreter.

May 22 - News1 highlights Youtube comments from first video that remark on his improving Korean skills. They caught up with him outside the hotel to ask how he studied Korean. He credits conversations he had with his parents. They then ask (in Korean) if he anticipates the film receiving an award (수상), to which he responds, "What's 수상?" and answers after having the word explained.

I was contemplating whether to wait to see if this film won an award to make the post but that probably deserves it's own party post if it happens!

I'm thrilled that Steven gets to play a Korean-American role with which he strongly identifies. His Korean was also hilariously adorable cause he'd go "[long English clause] 하고 [next long English clause]" while trying to convey a metaphor in his answer lmao

all of them kinda dodging the vegan question during the press conference was also funny and awkward (the questions in general were a mess)

I wanna watch it to get a better picture of the storyline since I wanna know if okja was bred or just existed as whatever it's suppose to be. Also the vegan/vegetarian propaganda seems strong in this one which agitates me a bit.

but on a real note if this animal was as amazing as she said and could provide food for millions while being economically sustainable, I'd be pissed off too some attached little girl was trying to ruin it. I understand some people arent meat eaters but if that's the case don't eat it.
