this is cute but at this point is there an idol who hasn't tried guarana? lmao and it's not surprising they love pastel so much, it's actually a dish traditionally associated with asian-brazilians communities
wish one of this shows went all out and got idols to try feijoada with farofa, i feel like that's a dish korean ppl would easily enjoy
yes, it was very common for chinese and japanese people to work selling it on farmer's market and such to the point where it's used here as a racist stereotype against asians actually
Woah, in here it's like the most common food but it's 100% paraguayan. It's sold so cheap and in massive amounts that it's one of the most common paraguayan breakfasts. The cheaper ones have so much oil tho, it's no wonder most of our people's health are bad lol
I was actually shocked to realise there's nothing even close to it in east asian cousine, that's how much the association is ingrained in us we usually have it for lunch on farmer's market day or asa snack, bars usually sell smaller versions to have with beer I personally love pastel de palmito, it's very traditional where I'm from crazy that it has such a different history in a country right next to mine, I've learned a lot from this post lmao
Oh man I don't like palmito! XD I prefer ham with cheese or chicken pastel! Tho in here it's called empanada. Pastel was called back in my grandparents day, and it's still used in rural areas but in the city it's empanada.
I love having it with popcorn, it's really a must try brazilian combination!! Pastel we usually have with a sort of smoothie we make with sugar cane I'm actually planning to go to Chile this year end, I'm already excited about the wine and food lmao
