I'm still reeling from those unexpected voting scores... Which were your favorite performances for each position, Omona? The SMTM5 one was my fave for Rap, but it's a toss up for Dance and Vocals.

Rap: Honestly all the rap performances were mediocre for me but I guess I'll go with SMTM. Worst was boys and girls, hands down.

Date: 2017-05-19 05:36 pm (UTC)Hip hop department was quite dead. As a person who do not listen a lot to this genre/doesn't care much and only judge smth on the base of "does it excite me or not" it deffo did not deliverd.
Vocals were wild rollercoaster of "please, sing more" and "please, close your mouth already"lol
Dancing on averag was nice, but also not mind blowing etc
2/3 category winners are debuted idols with experiance, I'm suprised Mnet did not yet pull some heavy drama (instead of rehasing the "greedy" trope) of actual trainees vs. active idols bc those who were/are already in the industry are pulling bigger and bigger cut for themselves here.
I was quite bored through whole ordeal, I want to skip to the elimination part - bring me bloodbath lol

as far as the performances go my favorites are still Playing With Fire, Right Round, and Fear but Get Ugly was great.

Date: 2017-05-19 06:23 pm (UTC)Vocals: Downpour was definitely the most emotional and raw, and ngl, when they cut to all the trainees crying i teared up pretty hard too. justice for jaehwan's vocals, and i really felt for hyunbin, he's not that talented, but i do feel for him and all the pressure he must be feeling. jisung really touched me with his leadership, and sungwoon and minhyun's vocals are underappreciated. overall, really really great performance. if it's you comes in second for vocal
Rap: lol... what to say... about the rap... boys and girls last, duh, but i feel like i can't judge the other ones well enough cause of the Blur lol. but i do think i enjoyed the smtm one. fear gets up there too for jonghyn's raw rap
Dance: INJUSTICE (except for taehyun being first overall). INJUSTICE EVERYWHERE. get ugly was pretty good, it's too bad fan messes ruined a lot of teh atmosphere and the rankings in the end. i actually enjoyed all the dance performances more than i thought, and since a lot of my faves are in dance, i can't judge objectively LOL. but RISE BIG WOOJIN

I really like him and it sucks that he hasn't been able to show what he's got yet. He had such a small part in Sorry Sorry, and for this round he was placed in the Dance group for whatever reason, ugh.

I wasn't overly impressed with any of the choreos but Shape of you was the best I guess.. I wish they'd just film choreo from dead center like it's supposed to be viewed... or at least upload choreo vids like that to youtubeeeeee. I love him but Park Sungwoo ranking above like all of the Get Ugly boys is ridiculous. Come on Mnet. Although with the fan votes added I don't think we're going to see any of them drop very far below the previous ranking.

Date: 2017-05-19 09:49 pm (UTC)If It's You was the best vocal group for me, they worked so well together. Seonglee and Jinwoo deserved better rankings. Yehyun seems so lovely. He was one of my faves early on when I noticed him helping the other guys in F to practice but I don't see him staying much longer :(
I'm happy for Park Woojin finally getting some attention though, now I need my other underrated faves to get the same but they'll prob be gone next week

Date: 2017-05-20 10:36 am (UTC)my favourite dance performance is get ugly. i wish there were more 'quiet' moments during the choreography instead of the 110% high octance ride that it was but it was the most entertaining for me.
i've come to appreciate shape of you more by watching taehyun's fancam. i think i know what my issue with it is apart from the boring necktie interlude, the choreography felt less like a 'boy group dance performance' and more like a hit the stage performance. what taehyun said introducing the dance was right (if a tad pretentious and i'm paraphrasing since i don't exactly recall), don't treat it like it's a dance, treat it like it's an visual art piece. i think it would be my favourite if taehyun performed it with backup dancers. also, i swear people are still sleeping on taehyun. the boy can SING. he's like the chungha of b101. top-notch dancer with a main/lead vocal material voice.
it also amuses me that taehyun and woojin probably geeked out together over dance during the 10/10 preparation despite the mnet taehyun vs. woojin leadership editing. look how well they mesh (ong is also presh)

Dance: get ugly was best to me. Even though they had popular members they also had some of the best dancers 5A1B is no joke. The actual number of votes was so messed up though... how most of this team placed at the bottom and how some non dance focus trainees beat their votes is laughable... well what can you do when the fans are trying to lower votes from their competition
