I love all the songs, andJaehwan's voice in everything (/____\) He could sing the phonebook and I'd still thank him.

They've all been improving so much. Like. Listen to Hyuk rising as vocal. Now he can suplex all his hyungs AND sing lead.

Shangri-La is growing on me, there are so many cool details in the instru! definitively one of their more subtle songs.
Black Out is a jam!!!!!
Everything is so pretty and they all sound so good

I love Black Out.

I cry knowing I will never see it performed outside of fancams cause it's all about sexin.

in the the void was very nice

i'm a big fan of black out, it's great. i thought it was gonna go harder and i'm really glad it didn't.

almost there is such a chill jam, i love it (those vocals? i don't recognize their voices so i don't know who's making me feel things but i like it. also someone sounded like onew for a sec lol)

i like 'to us' the least out of all of those, but it's still a pretty cool piece (i'm so tired of that efect at 3:39 tho. everyone should stop using it asap)

overall, this is such a nice mini! i don't listen to them at all, this is their first album i bothered to check out. at some point i even plugged in my speakers for that better audio experience lol

You never listened to VIXX releases ? :o If you like Almost There, maybe check Butterfly Effect! there are a bunch of slower songs on KER's compilation album but this one is my favourite.
I could go on for a while lmao, they have a bunch of solid bsides!

i did not! i know them obviously and i'm familiar with their singles (i liked that Leo/Ravi song a lot too) but haven't listened to anything else. Their aesthetic wasn't really my aesthetic I guess. It's not like I like slower songs more, but their more upbeat (not sure if that's a good word) songs weren't really my style :0

I'm listening to butterfly effect right now and it's really nice indeed, added to my playlist :D I'll check KER compilation out later today.

I don't mind! If you have time and feel like it please rec something, I'll gladly give your favourite songs a listen :3

I personally really liked their KER singles! They experimented a lot and might have confused fans but I like they tried different genres. Six Feet Under is a good bside to Dynamite (more focused on their lower registers) ; apart from it, I enjoyed Love Me Do, Desperate (classic VIXX) and Butterfly Effect the most.

My all-time favourite VIXX song is Hot Enough from Chained Up! it's the perfect smooth bedroom jam haha. And their performances... especially N has a way to dance so sensually, I'm weak.

From the older discography, apart from the dramatic singles (Error being my favourite), it's the mix of a cute/fun side (G.R.8.U, What to Do?, Time Machine, Chaos) with a more aggressive/sexy side (After Dark, Light Up the Darkness, Ravi's produced songs on the Voodoo album,) that drew me in.
Also it gets forgotten but Alive, their OST for Moorin School was really good. Spoiler, it's not the traditional ballad-OST lol

i'm sorry, i got distracted by a drama lol

thank you so much for all of those recs! I'll check them out tomorrow and update you on my thoughts :D

Hahaha don't worry, dramas come first ;)
Take your time! I hope you'll enjoy the songs :D

in the end i didn't listen to the KER album yet haha

but damn you were right about hot enough, i love it! i've been listening to it on loop for almost two days now :D leo's high note is so so soooo good.

alive is my second favourite, it really doesn't sound like atypical ost song :o

the cute/fun songs are cute and fun but i'm so used to darker/sensual (?) vixx i can't listen to those haha it's not their fault i just can't get used to the concept.

but i liked everything else, i think i'm ready to listen to their albums after i get tired of shangri-la :)

Aw you'll have the time to listen to KER!

Hehehe I'm glad you enjoyed Hot Enough and Alive so much!!!
Alive is so dramatic, I personally find this kind of atmosphere perfect for a movie (or a drama with fantasy elements which seemed to have been the case here) but yes I was surprised at how different it sounded from traditionnal k-ost.
again, watch Hot Enough live

I miss cute!VIXX (their cute songs usually are bops!) but I understand if they don't want to go back to it...and also totally understand those who don't associate VIXX with cute.
They're mostly known for the darker OR sensual concepts (you can thank Ravi for the sex mentions, he's their dirty mind lol) and are more comfortable doing them anyway! They talk about On & On like their real debut (unlike Rock Ur Body & Super Hero).
Also nowadays the cute songs are fan-services like Milky Way and... yeah I think their previous cute songs were better.

No shade, but why is Shangri-la the title track when into the void and blackout exist?

not sure about in the void but blackout is pretty much about sex, so they can't perform it on music shows lol

Blackout got banned by the first verse alone.

I miss cheesy vixx. I haven't felt a title song since voodoo doll :/ their new stuff just lacks punch to me. Its probably the chorus.

the dance for shangri-la is so frickin' beautiful <3 i wish they could have performed black out for that leg move alone lol too bad it was banned already. i wonder if into the void will have a dance tho

I bought the album but I didn't realise that there were 2 versions until after I bought the flower version. Kind of wish I got the birth stone one. But fingers crossed either way that I hopefully get the Ravi postcard/bookmark. If anyone ordered it too and potentially wants to trade eg. if I get Ken and you get Ravi, let me know, haha.
