Twice on Friday denied media reports that the girl group will release an album in May.

JYP Entertainment, which represents Twice said, “We can’t confirm the exact release date as of now. We’ll make an official announcement when it is confirmed.”

A local media outlet had said that Twice would release an album in May, ahead of promotional activities in Japan in June. The report also said that it would likely to be the group’s first studio album.

Twice is slated to release its 10-track Japanese debut album “#Twice” on June 28. It is gearing up for its debut showcase “Touchdown in Japan” in Tokyo on July 2.

Though to be fair, they are pretty good earners. If I remember correctly, there was a report that said they made more than Twice last year at least.

got7 do make more than twice. their physicals are steadily increasing with each release and they tour worldwide which rakes in more cash than digital and physical album and single sales. and they have a few cf deals.

once twice starts touring more extensively they could overtake got7 in terms of earning, but they're not there yet

yeah i just checked out melon. i don't think twice would suffer from a break though. i think it would be better to come back in early july with a summer jam. they'd catch some time in between to rest at least :(

If JYPE wasn't so awful at properly managing multiple groups at once and not over working certain groups... we might still have wonder girls and miss A (ok, maybe WG were just over it and wanted to disband regardless of everything else buuut... I don't believe it)

If JYPe could meet all the managerial requests of The Wonder Girls then I don't think they would've disbanded. But lord knows JYPe wasn't going to promote Yenny and Sunmi they way they need it. And the time to strike a Yubin solo has come and gone. That should've happened right after her Unpretty Rapstar stint.

their hits are still charting even after the end of their eras, so I don't understand why jype needs to rush a comeback. they could perfectly rest, go to japan for their debut and have a korean comeback after that. they won't lost moment, traction, popularity or anything. cfs will still be lining up, everyone will still listen to their songs, twice will still keep jype alive. the girls will still be popular like no other girl group member. they're the top of the game right now and will probably be for while since jype cracked the sucess formula and will keep doing the exact same thing. no need to have a comeback each two months. let the girls have a life! they're already making bank for you and your organic stuff, jyp.

Poor girls, when are they going to have some meaningful rest and not the few days companies usually grant once everyone is exhausted... I fear a situation similar to Hoot/First Japanese Album when SNSD was barely keeping up...

Aside from Jihyo who is suffering from a knee injury, Twice actually isn't overworked (by Kpop standards). Knock Knock was recorded around December, and their promotional period was pretty half-assed, basically just music shows. They didn't even guest in any variety shows, which is probably the most strenuous part of promoting because it takes half a day to shoot it. They already have around 2 weeks of rest this March already.

I am more worried about the possibility of overexposure, but this May comeback is honestly not a bad idea especially with how saturated Kpop is now. I don't think Twice has completely solidify their position yet and isn't immune to being replaced.

What makes me a little less concerned is that they barely promoted KK. Only in music shows and some fanmeetings but that was it. Hope they get at least 1 or 2 weeks of rest. At least they're off the camera now and only doing vlives.
