yeah true but ariana's vid for side to side could be put in the moma archives. and while both spinning and ariana are things, i can't see some company exec thinking about either of those things for a kpop special vid. maybe it's benji's doing, tho

ariana doesn't do that well in korea, tho. "problem" with iggy did well—it was number 5 for international songs on 2015's yr-end chart—and "bang bang" did well. she's charting rn with her and john legend's beauty and the beast song but i don't think a lot of people there are checking for her; i don't think she's had a show there (but she's had a few in japan)

yeah, hyorin's "paradise" had a cycling scene but starship also welcomes (western) media comparing her and ariana just because there's ~* similarities. and y'know, i think b.i.g being a bg would also change the dynamic where this vid specifically is involved; why would they copy hyorin or ariana? it doesn't add up, imo but i'm probably also thinking too much into this. esp since i can't find how well "side to side" did there
