While the Wonder Girls are now unfortunately a thing of the past, it doesn't mean they can no longer be celebrated. They're known for changing the K-Pop game forever with their monster hits, such as Tell Me and Nobody, that everyone and their grandma knows, but that wasn't all these 7 (yes, I counted Hyuna) lovely ladies contributed to the music scene in their 10 years of being wonderful. I chose to curate a playlist of 10 of Wonder Girls' b-sides that I wish would recieve more love and I figured Omona would be a great place to share it, what with Sohee being Omona's mascot and all.
1. I Wanna
Written by: J.Y. Park "The Asian Soul"
Produced by: Park; Woo Seok Rhee "RAINSTONE"
Now if you're trash for a disco sound, such as myself, you might like Wonder Girls' entire first album, The Wonder Years. The first four songs that I list here are from the same album! I Wanna has all the classic points you'd expect from a disco song with a touch of 90s' funk. Riiiight up my alley.
Bonus! Have a gif of Yenny and Taecyeon dancing to this very song.

2. Move (ft. Lee Min Woo)
Written by: RAINSTONE
Produced by: RAINSTONE
3. 이바보 (This Fool)
Written by: Park
Produced by: Park
I DON'T THINK ANYONE UNDERSTANDS HOW MUCH I LOVE IBABO. I even learned some of the dance... Not that it's particularly hard but it's so obcure that no one ever knows what I'm doing. But also, I love the lyrics. It's basically "???? Boy, wyd??"
4. 뭐 어때 (So What) (ft. David "Day Day" Kim)
Written by: Brian Kim
Produced by: Kim
Soooo Day Day from DMTN was on this track!! I found that very interesting when I was first getting into Wonder Girls because that's also when I was getting into DMTN.
Fun Fact! Hyuna's backing vocals were still featured in the songs released on The Wonder Years, which is why I also mentioned her in my intro.
5. SuperB
Written by: Kim Eana
Produced by: East4A
The next three songs are from one of their post-Nobody albums, Wonder World. SuperB is actually a Sohee and Yubin duet and Sohee has said that this was her favorite song from the album because it was just her and Yubin which I found super adorable. It's more of an electronica/dance track but it pops and I love it.
6. 두고두고 (Long Long Time)
Written by: Park
Produced by: Park
Long Long Time was also a duet, this time with Yeeun and Sunye, the lead and main singers. It's a slower jam, closer to a ballad really. I'm so happy there's actually a live performance...
7. Dear. Boy
Written by: Jessica Martinez, Nikki Flores
Produced by: Fingazz, DJ Nüre
Okay, I feel like this whole entire album didn't have a really cohesive sound like most of their other albums did so this one being an R&B jam was just another difference between all the songs. It seems to be a fan favorite after "Me, In", too!
8. Girlfriend
Written by: HA:TFELT
Produced by: HA:TFELT, Lee Woo Min
For this whole entire list, I tried not to include HA:TFELT productions because I am HIGHLY biased and love pretty much anything Yenny puts out so if I didn't control myself, it would just be a list of Yenny's Greatest Hits According To Moi. HOWEVER, I couldn't resist adding just this one because it's a good jam, it's chill, but it's also about a fuckboy! Probably the same fuckboy that Ain't Nobody was about!
Fun Fact! Yenny was using her HA:TFELT producer name way before she created an Instagram using the alias and baffling her fanbase as to what it meant. The album prior to the one Girlfriend is from has Yenny credited as HA:TFELT in the physical album photobook!
9. Who Am I (ft. Yubin)
Written by: Kim Eun Su, Yubin
Produced by: East4A
This one is from Sunmi's solo run with JYPE but it features Yubin so it's really a subunit of Wonder Girls' final lineup. It's got a very rock and roll feel to it and I will be FOREVER bitter that I never got a band version of it. With Sunmi on the bass. Also Yubin sounds incredibly sexy, as usual.
10. Frozen In Time (ft. Jackson of GOT7)
Written by: Chloe
Produced by: Nodae, Bjerk
Another one from Sunmi's solo! And this one features my GOT7 fave!! This was the closest thing I ever got to a Wonder Girls/GOT7 collab so I hang onto it for dear life. It's a very pretty ballad and features Sunmi's whisper vocals in all their glory plus Jackson's vocals that are just always A++++++++++.
Lim has proven herself to be a very valuble member of Wonder Girls time and time again and I wanted to give her the spotlight for a minute for her contributions.
1. Act Cool (ft. San-E)
Written by: Woo Hyerim, San-E
Produced by: Woo, San-E
Lim was added as a replacment for Sunmi but her singing wasn't quite on par for the job. Good thing she was given a chance to show that she was actually a very talented lyricist and that her flow when rapping was also quite impressive.
2. Iron Girl (ft. Woo Hyerim)
Written by: HA:TFELT, Collapsedone, Woo Hyerim, Sool J
Produced by: HA:TFELT, Collapsedone
Lim also wrote her parts for a feature on Yenny's solo and Yenny has even commended Lim's talent for writing profound lyrics.
3. OPPA
Written by: Woo Hyerim, Frants
Produced by: Woo, Frants
This particular track from Reboot was full of personality, makes for a great feminist anthem, and also is basically a Lim and Sunmi duet as Sunmi provides the vocals for the pre-chorus as well as the backing vocals for the actual chorus.

And as someone who listens to Reboot at least 3 times a week, I had no idea Sunmi did the backing vocals on it! Their friendship is so wonderful.

Date: 2017-03-29 07:12 am (UTC)I think I've only listened to their first album twice due to being distracted by other music (I got into WG around the same time I got into Girls Aloud and GA took prominence), me hating the version of the album I downloaded (I wanted to change the id3 tags because they were crap), and me ultimately either misplacing the files or deleting them because I needed the space.
I also only listened to Sunmi's mini once I think. No grand explanation for this one. I listened to it was like "meh" and never went back to it.
Any way great post and I'll try to listen to the ones I'm unfamiliar with (the ones I do know are deserving of their spots on this list) whenever the head phones I just bought arrive in the mail.

Date: 2017-03-29 09:29 am (UTC)If I had to make a list, I would have a hard time choosing between Sweet Dream, Stop!, Me In (why did we only got a teaser what could it have been) and Girls Girls (because it always makes me smile), but I also agree 100% with Dear Boy, Act Cool and SuperB!
Seriously this album is packed with amazing songs and also different genres/influences, I love love Reboot and they totally nailed the 80s influences + band concept but I always come back to Wonder World.
I'm happy to see so many Wonder Years bsides too, it's such an iconic kpop release!

Date: 2017-03-29 12:12 pm (UTC)i remember people being baffled about ha:tfelt long before yeeun's solo lmao. but her mini was so good and ofc so were the songs she wrote for the wonder girls. i remember someone saying dugo dugo is about jyp's ex wife? idk but i love the song. i also think wonder world is their best album. sometimes i think it's such a shame sohee and sunye weren't there for reboot bc i missed their voices (yes, even sohee's, idgaf) and they would have killed the concept. but oh well, i was super happy to see sunmi back (and her compositions were my favorite songs on reboot)

Date: 2017-03-29 02:49 pm (UTC)honorable mentions imo are:
1. faded love !!! this entire song is just pure 80s gorgeousness, i think sunmi composed this and tbh she's made a lot of my favorite songs on the reboot album and yubin sings !!
2. gone (aka the best song ever made) the harmonies and adlibs mixed with lim's husky voice and yenny's powerful vocals is just A+ (im sure sunmi produced this one too)
3. beautiful boy/to the beautiful you: A MASTERPIECE
4. girls girls , yubin's voice on this was amazing and also female empowerment !!
5. if that was you , sunmi and yenny duet , do i have to continue ?
thats it 🙂
