INFINITE‘s Sunggyu has reportedly been injured and may not be able to participate in the group’s comeback promotions.
Reports are coming out that Sunggyu has fractured his ribs while filming an episode of variety show Singderella. During the show, contestants compete while singing and dancing in order to win food.
Due to his injury, Sunggyu will most likely not be able to participate in INFINITE’s Japanese promotions in April and Korean promotions in May.
Infinite is trying to minimize the impact Sunggyu’s injury has on the group’s promotions by modifying their activities to accommodate for his injury. Woollim has already discussed modifying the group’s music video filming scheduled for March 30 to put less stress on Sunggyu’s injury. The official said,
“Sunggyu cannot dance to the choreography due to severe pain in his ribs. Due to the fact that he will not be able to dance with his members we are probably going to have to change the content of the music video.”

*sigh* Most likely the last comeback before he enlists and he won't be able to enjoy it.

Date: 2017-03-29 11:02 am (UTC)Gotta wonder how the fuck they managed to do that.
Also, he still has two years before he is recquired to enlist, op. Although he might have planned to enlist after the contract expires, but now that he's injured, it's probably off the table. lol

Date: 2017-03-29 04:07 pm (UTC)like I'm sad that he got injured, but this type of things happen when you've these physical games going on with people that are not athletes or have any preparation for it.
I didn't know there was a may comeback planned, but woollim is probably trying to squeeze everything they can before their contracts end, so it makes sense.
there were other instances when the members were injured and the comeback went as planned so I'm a bit confused here.

Date: 2017-03-29 04:17 pm (UTC)Cuz that's all I can think about with the possible comeback delay, if even sitting it out would not be of much help.

Date: 2017-03-29 04:56 pm (UTC)I just really hope he's okay and gets to rest so he can join the comeback. I don't mind even if we get an MV like SHINee's 1of1 when onew was sitting all the time. :'(

Date: 2017-03-29 08:27 pm (UTC)I don't care two shits if it's a rib fracture that's piercing his lungs or just a small crack that needs a bit of ice and a bandaid, injuries need to heal properly. I know a couple things about injuring oneself and rushing back without taking time to rest properly, and let me tell you, the consequences are not funny one bit, even if I don't look like I'm crying myself to sleep at night, it doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. Instead of accusing of shit, or inventing conspiracy theories about Sunggyu, maybe you lot should redirect your anger at Woollim for NOT letting/forcing Woohyun, myungsoo, Hoya and co to rest when THEY got injured.
"Oh boohoo comeback might be delayed or not happen before contract renewal." or "being sad" that the MV will be modified/incomplete like Last Romeo or Destiny. Boohoo, cry me a river.
All these so-called fans saying they love them so much!!!1! their "oppas" or "hyungs" are so important and precious, need to be protected at all cost and blablabla but once they don't release a song when they want it and the way they want it, suddenly, their health is the bottom of the priority, and they're just products for your entertainment (which is technically their job, but the hypocrisy *snorts*...) that need to grit their teeth and just go with it "for the fans <333!!!". Yall need to re-evaluate your priorities and what kind of people you are.
This is like the Kris/Luhan thing all over again. Kris being accused of faking it because he didn't look ready to drop dead like Luhan did back then. Kris doesn't owe them shit, they buy exo's album or they don't, but his health is his business. The same goes for Sunggyu and anybody else. If Woollim lets him rest, that's good. Perfect. If they don't, they're shit, just like all the others time they didn't allow the others to rest.

Date: 2017-03-29 09:31 pm (UTC)1) Where was this reaction/treatment when the other members were injured?
2) That Woollim keeps LYING. If they'd just admit they have no intent of having Infinite comeback before their contracts expire it'd be fine, but they keep duping and taking advantage of fans to keep what dwindling cash flow they have running. Give up this facade of "ot7" and let the group die a respectable death before shit hits the fan in June. Or don't, I guess, and let your fandom go nuclear and have the fallout affect the rest of your groups. Morons.

Date: 2017-03-29 10:32 pm (UTC)But I know this is the internet and people will have opinions on everything but as someone who have an injury that didn't heal properly but still feel the pain even after years, this constant questioning or dismissive attitude some people have about the genuiness of our injury is more harmful than you can imagine that's why I went on a rant. Speculating on someone's possible injury? People need to stop jumping at conclusions immediately.
Maybe it will turn out it was exagerated and he just has a bruise or a little scratch? Maybe it's something more serious? I saw the fall, and I've seen people injured themselves more seriously for stupider reasons than that tbh, so I'm not gonna judge. Just like I said above, i don't care if it's minimum or heavy injury, I wish people (wether Sunggyu or others) go to heal if needed. Emphasis on "if needed." Because I know even the silliest injury can sometimes leave lasting damages and I don't wish it on anybody. If it's not a rib fracture, even if it's the dumbest little sprain, well good for him (for it not being a fractured rib)??? And bad publicity for Woollim?? I'm not necessarily saying Woollim is not lying about the reason they are gonna postpone or cancel, I'm not arguing with you about that. I just don't have strong feelings about these reasons:
tbh, I would rather prefer that no one is injured/it's fake and that it's a lie/bad pr move by a shitty company, than it being a real injury and the company ordering their idol to dance along to the choreo and worsening. If Woollim is just using this injury as an excuse to postpone the comeback, well... that's a shitty attitude (not that I hold them or other company to high level of esteem in the first place anyway), but they're not really harming me with their decision. If the album comes out, good. If it doesn't, I'll listen to something else. They can't scam me of my money if the album doesn't exist, you know.
edit: this turned huger than expected. lol But basically, I wasn't particularly arguing with the two points you just mentioned.
