"School 2017" Announced for July

KBS’s longtime drama series “School” will be returning with its latest installment this year, “School 2017.” A source from the broadcasting station announced on March 20, that auditions for the cast are currently underway for the youth drama.

KBS’s “School” franchise first began in 1999 with “School 1.” Since then, several installments have followed over the years, with the latest including popular dramas “School 2013,” and “Who Are You: School 2015.” The common thread between all the dramas in this series is that youths are the main focus. It first gained traction for “really showcasing school life” in a drama industry that didn’t do so at the time, and while it has tried to focus more on youth romance, the effort to show the daily lives and concerns of today’s youth remains steadfast.

“School 2017” will premiere sometime in July as a Monday-Tuesday drama

Depends on the kind of kdrama you usually watch. The School series is more into youth-related issues thats happening in SKorea. I liked 2013 and 2015 but I have to admit it was mostly Sungjae's and Kim Sohyun's acting that kept me interested #JusticeForGongTaekwang

i like school 2013 a lot, i've rewatched it twice or thrice tbh

but it depends on whether you like dramas focused more around youth issues (a lot with bullying, studies, societal/familial pressure, etc.) but it also spent time on teachers' side of things - 2013 had no love line iirc, but i think that was a good thing

No to model actors, they are pieces of wood glued together in some kind of make-believe practice.
No to bromance angled on hard baiting that ends up with "I'm healthy man!" statement.
Yes to not putting another draged love story as a centre of the plot.
Yes to an idol if he/she can pull YSJ.

Youth dramas are one of my favorite genres, so I'm looking forward to this. I wonder how much of the feel will change with the new PD. And maybe the writer will switch it up and we'll get an amazing girls friendship this time :D

the school 2013 was amazing, really liked that a lot and school 2015 was also pretty good but they really dragged that romance line so hard which made me suffer ugh, i would like for the next one to be more like school 2013, there could be a love line but no intense triangle pls (sassy go go is actually pretty much what i want again; youth issues, love line without too much bs and interesting characters or a drama like angry mom, still one of my top faves)

as for involving actors; biased af but key would be holy but he's already doing another drama around that time too bad, but perhaps lee sung kyung but idk rlly N? oh wait he's also just confirmed or smt for another drama, all others i wanna see are too old for such a setting (to be realistic) or going to the army soon (perhaps ok taecyeon?)
