LOOΠΔ 1/3 interviews
ViVi “I found my K-pop dream after seeing Big Bang’s MV in Hong Kong”

“When I was a middle schooler was when I first saw the music videos for Big Bang and 2NE1 and decided that was my dream.”
This was the explanation from rookie girl group LOOΠΔ’s Chinese member ViVi(22) who is beginning promotions in the first unit ‘LOOΠΔ 1/3′. Born and raised in Hong Kong, ViVi watched the music videos of Big Bang and 2NE1, where she began raising her dream of being a singer while receiving dance lessons. She wanted to become a K-pop singer who makes exciting music and dynamic performance that are different from Hong Kong singers.
She was chosen from LOOΠΔ’s agency BlockBerry Creative’s SNS casting and took the chance to go to Korea. Her father told her “it’d be better if you didn’t go”, but he couldn’t hold her back and she left for a foreign country in order to achieve her dream. ViVi explained the background of her solid determination, “I was also very worried about coming to Korea. I didn’t know Korean and I was worried about whether I would do well by myself. Yet I thought of it as an opportunity. I became curious about things like how different the life style would probably be when I got to Korea.”
It’s been a year since she’s come to Korea. She’s still not proficient, but now she knows enough Korean to be able to communicate with others. There were even moments during her trainee days when she cried alone. The other trainees became her strength.
“I was chosen as a member and broke out into happiness, though I was also nervous. I had big expectations, you know.”
ViVi revealed her goals as a singer, “I hope people will watch me and be happy with me.”
ViVi is entering into full-scale promotions as a member of the unit LOOΠΔ 1/3 and the title song ‘Love&Live’ beginning with SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the 12th.
Heejin “I want to make my older sisters’ dreams come true with my special talents"

“I’ll make the unanswered dreams of my older sisters come true.”
This is Heejin(18)’s resolution as she begins activities in LOOΠΔ’s first unit ‘LOOΠΔ 1/3′. Out of three daughters, she’s the maknae. Her oldest sister is a researcher at a bio firm while her second sister is currently majoring in bio at university. Among the sisters, Heejin isn’t some ‘mutant’. Her eldest sister continued learning dance sports and her other sister had a dream of being a singer for some time. Now they’re older sisters who are the most reliable cheerleaders for Heejin.
Since she was a child she loved to dance. After she really found her dream of being a singer, she had a burning passion to the point she attended a school to learn dance in Nonsan during her 1st year of middle school. Despite that, she failed every casting audition. In 2015, though her father opposed it and told her to stop, she was casted by her current agency BlockBerry Creative through SNS. After a year of training, she was confirmed as the first member of LOOΠΔ.
“Although I was happy, my guilt for the other trainees grew. There were a lot of trainees who were naturally skilled.”
Heejin pointed out that ‘talent’ was the reason she was chosen as the first member. She said that she heard many times that when in front of the camera, she shows a different aura and expression.
Yet, becoming the first member out of the 12 in LOOΠΔ to be revealed one by one every month wasn’t a small burden. Heejin revealed, “I was worried about whether LOOΠΔ would really be able to debut when I came out as the first member.” And yet, Heejin showed her charming looks and, of course, her unique voice and cute dance in her own solo debut music video for ‘ViViD’, proving her right to be the first member.
“Since I’ve already debuted, I want us to become the greatest girl group in Korea. And I’m aiming to be a singer that would be a dream to anyone.”
Heejin is entering into full-scale promotions as a member of the unit LOOΠΔ 1/3 and the title song ‘Love&Live’ beginning with SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the 12th.
Haseul “The one who made my path as a singer was my music teacher”

Taking part in the youth festival under her music teacher’s recommendation was the turning point of this girl’s life. This is the story of rookie girl group LOOΠΔ’s member Haseul(21) who is starting promotions in their first unit ‘ LOOΠΔ 1/3′.
Haseul prepared to enter college for singing. However, her third year of high school was difficult (she studied in America for 1 year and returned, graduating late) and she was advised by her music teacher to enter into a youth festival. She didn’t win, but she was casted as a trainee in her current company, BlockBerry Creative.
Haseul said, “During elementary school I was in the choir and singing on a stage felt really fun. That was what started my dream. Even though I major in singing at college, I found my midpoint in popera and other public music and made my first steps toward my dream.
She went through trainee life for 1 year before being chosen as a member of LOOΠΔ. Haseul touched us with her words, “I was really worried about whether I would be able to debut since there were so many trainees with better skills than me. When I was picked out as a member, I broke into tears. Until the day before I went to go film my music video, I kept asking the staff ‘is it really true that I’m debuting?’.”
Her father cheered her on saying ‘you should live doing what you want to do’ and is a reliable support for her. Her goal as a singer is to pull at the public’s heartstrings with her singing. Haseul is entering into full-scale promotions as a member of the unit LOOΠΔ 1/3 and the title song ‘Love&Live’ starting with SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the 12th.
Hyunjin “A natural beauty brimming with confidence”

“My overflowing confidence is my strength.”
With one sentence she revealed her ambitions. This is LOOΠΔ’s second member Hyunjin(18) whose charms and ‘talents’ we’ve verified through her solo song ‘Around You’ and music video released this past November. There wasn’t any hesitation in her words as she spoke and conveyed her positive energy to us. She also said that in front of the camera she has almost no nervousness at all.
We’ve seen her face before on TV. In 2013, she appeared on the tvN variety show ‘Three Idiots’. It was a ‘beauty since birth’ special. Her eldest brother told her to ‘try it out’ and encouraged her to appear on the show after an interview. She said, “I appeared on the show and afterwards I got a call from my current agency. Of course, I didn’t hesitate during that process either.”
When she was in her 5th year of elementary school, she went on a retreat and danced on stage with her friends, where she began her dream of becoming an idol singer. Hyunjin’s father works in the building industry while her mother is a housewife. Her eldest brother is the main vocal and composer of the band Bi-o-ne while her other older brother is attending acting school and preparing for his acting debut. They’re a family of celebrities. Thanks to her parents who supported them and told them “do what you want to do”, the children were able to form dreams they wanted for themselves.
After living as a trainee for 3 years, she was chosen as a member of LOOΠΔ. “There were times I just wanted to stop and quit,” she said, “My skills weren’t developing as quickly as I thought they would. I got over it quickly with my positive attitude and it finally paid off.”
“When I became a member I couldn’t believe it. To this day I even have thoughts like ‘am I really becoming a singer?’. Since we’re starting promotions now, I’ll become a singer who will show an exemplary image.”
Hyunjin will head into full-scale promotions as a member of the unit LOOΠΔ 1/3 with their title song ‘Love&Live’ at SBS Inkigayo on the 12th.

Date: 2017-03-14 08:54 am (UTC)We all know how rough training life is, but I can't imagine seeing other trainees around you being picked up while there are less and less chances of you making it to the group uh.
Heejin and Haseul have a lot of potential to improve, they've done only 1 year of training and they're already carrying the songs they're singing with other members.
Why am I already way too involved in this group and should I get a Loona icon to make it officialno subject

Date: 2017-03-14 01:23 pm (UTC)Haseul's face reminds me so much of that bitchy doctor from Descendants of the Sun lol. I'm somewhat still anticipating the members that are yet to be revealed but most of my excitement has died away tbh. This debuting process is taking too long.
