Oh My Girl updates: Comeback in April, JinE's continued hiatus, small explosion at MV set

Oh My Girl will be making their comeback without JinE, who previously took a break from activities after being diagnosed with anorexia.

WM Entertainment stated on March 13, “We officially announce that JinE will not be participating in the upcoming album set for release in April. We have gone through thorough discussions with JinE since last August, and we decided to prioritize her health over anything else. As a result, JinE will not join this album and will take a break for an undetermined period. The comeback schedule will remain unchanged for the remaining members, and we will fully support JinE in her recovery. We ask for your unchanging love and interest in Oh My Girl.”


It has been reported that an explosion occurred while Oh My Girl was shooting a music video for their upcoming single.

On March 12, a source confirmed that the girls were shooting a music video in the city of Namyangju when combustible dust got too close to the lighting, causing a small explosion. However, the fire was quickly put out, and the girls were able to resume shooting their music video.

The source also assured that while the Oh My Girl members were startled, they did not sustain any injuries.

Meanwhile, the group is the midst of preparing for their comeback next month.

Certain kinds of regular dust (especially sawdust and flour) can combust when there is enough around a focused heat source or a spark; special effects for dust explosions is also a thing -- apparently non-dairy creamer works (!) -- so I am guessing the latter but didn't go off when it was supposed to.

Even though JinE really is missed from the group, I wouldn't want her to come back when she's not ready and have it negatively affect her health. Hopefully JinE/her parents/the company are on the same page together and she can rejoin if and when it's best for her.

Sometimes I wonder if JinE will ever be back again. I mean, anorexia is an illness that takes a long time to fight and even if she recovers fully (which I truly hope she does!), coming back to an industry, in which the pressure is so high to look perfect all the time, might not be a good idea. Wishing her all the best, though! <3

Well to know that nobody got hurt from that explosion either.
I can't wait for the comeback!, minus the "feat haha" releases i did like all of their songs, the windy day repackage was so good also. I know we are not going to get another closer cause that was an exceptional thing (song, choreo, mv, everything was 10/10) but liar liar or another windy day would be awesome (more another windy day)
