Jinyoung's song is Paradise! Track list is here (http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/buckleyourboots/78082216/92746/92746_original.jpg) if you want a snoop, they're all over the credits.
So far I'm looooooving Sign (ars come thru), Q, Don't Care, and surprisngly Go Higher (from the teaser I had seriously low expectations but I'm #hereforit)
I'm indifferent on Never Ever and Paradise.
Out is pretty bad and Shopping Mall is so terrible I could barely get through the song.
Writing this as I listen through the whole album (sans Never Ever)
Shopping Mall - Sounds better than I expected from the the album spoiler. It's a fun pop song. I love Jackson's voice for the hook/chorus :'^D
Paradise - JINYOOOOOOUNG AAAAAAAAAAH This is so good??? As much as I hate to admit it, Mayday was pretty much middle of the pack for me in Turbulence but Paradise might actually be the best song in this album? It's giving me house with drum n bass lite vibes (minus the bass I guess XD) The beat is too good!
Sign - The Prove It of this album? I thought it'd be more ballad-y but I love that it's a slow jam >A< JB sounds good here, why can't he sound like this all the time? Orz Jinyoung bridges are the highlights of every song for me T_T
Go Higher - BANGER INCOMING \O/ Kinda reminds me of Big Bang, Ikon sound though...Weird transitions. Not my style but I can get with it *head bang* SKR SKR! That low, bassy synth is a little annoying and it's kind of all over the place but it's fun.
Q - Nasally JB makes a comeback. Cute song but really not my style. Kinda boring for me.
양심없이 - This was the song from the instagram teasers :O That weird wowp wowp sound is a little too loud in my opinion, feels like it overpowers everything else. Yugyeom and Jinyoung remain my fave vocal duo T♥T
Out - I knew this would be a mess but it's a certified banger. Jackson is really putting on that tone...but I don't mind it? I've given up on hoping rap line don't do these pitchy raps that go high pitched at the end. Jinyoung's angelic voice ;O; I actually like Mark's rap here?? They really sound like they're having fun. getoutgetout Get out Get Out OUT! I like this better than Go Higher for the hyphy song of the album :U Despite its flaws, this is probably the most memorable/catchy song on Arrival WAIT A MINUTE I'M OUT
I feel like their voices sound so much better in these B-sides compared to the title? I think this is a pretty solid album. I think Turbulence has conditioned me to not mind (even like) their rapping X'D
paradise is my fave tho and Q and sign are also gr8. jinyoung (+yjae) is rly coming into his element in producing, i loved mayday.
overall i'm surprised by how much i like it (obv i still haven't learnt to not listen to album previews, especially got7's album previews). go higher sounds too much like a big bang song tho.
sign: best song on the album. i’m glad that chloe, noday, and youngjae came together for this track. the whole chorus is so smooth and they do interesting things with the melody thru out the song. youngjae’s soaring voice in the bridge is so gorgeous (jinyoung sounds great in the part leading up to that bridge)
양심없이 (don't care): r&b7 should be a thing
q: is like a really good opening theme song to a cute 90s family sitcom
paradise: has that same general sound as never ever but better executed?
never ever: so promising from the beginning! but then the chorus hits
out: there’s a good song buried in there. like the prechorus bits with 2young. there’s too many things going on? was there a montell jordan reference? it’s like 5 songs blended together
shopping mall & don't care are definitely faves. q was really boring and felt like a rehash for 400 other songs i don't necessarily like—it's so forgettable i don't even know why it's there. i also really like sign (i replayed it twice trying to list to the album in a straight shot)! and OUT's not the worst
I can confidently say I love about 3 or 4 songs for sure. It would have been more if not for the delivery of the rap verses on other songs. So ultimately, it makes this album the weakest out of all of them.
Rap Line spoiled most of these songs with their fake ass, foolish rapping imitations that they're terrible at mimicking. Please stop. If Rap Line insists on biting what every other rapper is doing right now, cool, that's Kpop. But at least do it right. Otherwise, it makes a song unbearable while listening.
I get that they all don't want to do cute concepts and that's fine. But Rap Line needs to step away from completely embarrassing themselves on these tracks by not abandoning what their voices are doing in those rap verses. I tolerated it on Turbulence because it wasn't that bad. It seems to have amplified by like 1000.
I've been sleeping on Youngjae far too long. His voice is amazing! And funny thing is the more i listen to jinyoung the less i like his tone, idk why it always sounds like he's straining or like there's sth in his throat. And rapline continues to ruin the songs for me, BB and jackson in particular =/
Sign is sooo nice. I love that chill vibe. Very clean composition and none of that unnecessary noise and beats that seems to characterise Got7's sound these days...Best song off the album for me.
양심없이 was nice!
Paradise is not bad and I like Mark's rapping here.
Q surprised me, i liked it. Shopping mall was nice too.
Never Ever wasn't memorable. It wasn't bad but i can't remember how it sounds like. Only liked the first two verses. Didn't appreciate how the beat randomly stops and starts. Plus the chorus was so... ???
I actually enjoyed the bridge/pre-chorus for Out but not the rest of the song.
Go higher was a more awful version of never ever. I don't tend to like really noisy songs like this one. Worst song here imo.
I'll listen to the album on my commute later, but should I expect Turbulence style (which is perfectly fine for me)? Or something different? Is Never Ever the worst song of the album again?
Either way, excited. The boys' songs in the Flight Log series have been much better to me than the title songs where they've had no input. I haven't listened to the album spoiler yet so this will be Brand New Stuff.
i like paradise (title material), sign (youngjae went off omg) + q is cute, more like their older stuff.
i feel like i've heard out before - reminds me of smth obnoxious from turbulence. the vocals are nice but the rapping is painful. can't remember anything about don't care after i listened to it. it's really flat. shopping mall is embarrassing. go higher sounds like bang bang bang.
I loved Never Ever at first listen but the rest I had to listen to a few times to start to like because on first listen all the songs seemed to mix together for me. I really love Out and Paradise. I like them all honestly.

paradise: this is such a good song this should have been the title track good on u jinyoung.
sign: YOUNGJAE YOU ANGEL
go higher 30 secs in and im aggressively fist pumping in the air
OUT: lmaooo did they really make a song out of the inside joke amazing
this album is solid and its always a shame how the b sides for me are always 100x better than the title track

and as much as I love the rap line: please stop. just be normal humans and rap in the semi competent way you used to back in the debut era.
whatever, Yugyeom continues to slay all over this album and I'm here just proud of my son

Date: 2017-03-13 03:37 pm (UTC)Shopping Mall could be a half decent song if it had some less fucking dumbass lyrics like i'm sorry i can't
my sweet talented baby angel child Choi Youngjae did not let me down i'm so proud
Go Higher actually isn't bad; part of the pre-chorus melody reminds me of 2NE1's "I Love You"
