Screenwriter of ‘Doctors’ returns with new drama

Ha Myung-hee, the screenwriter of SBS’ 2016 drama “Doctors,” will soon return with her latest work, the new drama “Temperature of Love,” her agency Pan Entertainment said Tuesday.

The upcoming series is based on Ha’s novel “Good Soup Never Picks up the Phone,” released in 2014. The novel tells the story of an aspiring screenwriter, Jane, and an aspiring French chef, “Good Soup.” They meet through an online community.

The drama will center on the love and relationships shared by those from the “internet generation.”

Ha’s past work includes JTBC’s drama “Can We get Married?” in 2012 and SBS’ drama “High Society” in 2015. She gained fame through the 2016 drama “Doctors,” which earned her a commendation from the minister of culture, sports and tourism at the 2016 Korea Content Awards.

I remember that I liked Can We Get Married but definitely did not like Doctors. Doctors was so boring

I watched Doctors mainly for my man Jisoo (who didn't appear much) and found it....boring. idk. It was like any other normal kdrama and I didn't find it super engaging. It's relative popularity is befuddling. Also found their portrayal of doctors abit unrealistic.

Watched high society for abit and stopped after ep 5/6

Find it interesting she's written a book and that her script will be based off that!

Never had any inkling of interest in Doctors. High Society was so bad. So so terrible. I watched it because at that point I still had misguided loyalty to Sung Joon but his and UEE's storylines were the worst and so was their acting. I ended up only watching for Hyungsik and his secondary romance. Everything else about it was absolutely awful.

Depending on casting/teasers I might check this out.

Hyungsik was the only light there and been one of the only few qualities in Hwarang also, like boy keeps picking flop dramas, hope that Strong Woman gonna be better - it looks ok at least for now.

Kim Raewon is charming and all but Doctors is soooo boring -- in term storyline/plot. But the good side of it is that the medical part of it wasnt as cringe worthy as DOTS.

But one line of the script really stood out for me when Park Shinhye told this to ‎Lee Sunkyung's character; 'I did not make you feel that way (unreasonable dislike she had towards PSH), but you yourself who decide to feel that way.' When she said that, it really hits me that nobody can make you feel sad or miserable but you yourself who can decide whether to feel that or not.

high society was awful, just all sorts of cliche thrown together and the leads were so unbelievable as a couple. i still don't understand the obsession some people have with sung joon, lol.

and doctors... just. i'm allergic to poorly written medical dramas and doctors gave me hives.

I used to have hopes for Sungjoon but he keeps choosing terrible projects, that tragic Hyunbin's Jekyll drama, High Society, that drama with Han Yeseul. He got out there in 12/13 and then...

It's quite a mystery how he really often gets casted as a lead without any super hit work in the past, hallyu relevancy or any connections to kpop aka fandom. Whatever black magic he does it works - I saw his new drama just started lol
It's big cb of Ko So-young (Jang Donggun's wife) after like a decade, more "adult" stuff I guess, so maybe this time.

Doctors was terrible, but it had my baes (Kyunsang, Minsuk, Jisoo) in it and Shinhye whooped ass every now and again, and I enjoyed that, lol.

Also there was a guy in the first couple of episodes who was so fine. Put him in more dramas.

I never watched High Society, that has Hyungshik in it, right? I heard his character was unbearable and if I need a refresher on unbearable, I'll just watch The Heirs again.

i watched about half of doctors but it got rly boring. also i'm so done with dramas romanticising innapropriate relationships (park shinhye's and kim raewon's characters meeting and BASICALLY dating as teacher and student was not romantic).

THIS!! I really couldn't handle that relationship anymore so I quit too around ep 8, like i kept thinking how wrong it was and i caved when also the plot became utterly boring~

I loved Doctors except for the weird beginning, besides that I loved it. I think it was a story that was meant to be told slowly since one of the biggest conflicts was PSH learning how to trust/love, besides her whole quest which also does turn out to be more of an internal conflict.

idk if i will watch this new drama since i haven't seen any of these other dramas.

High Society felt like it had potential in the beginning. I thought the writer was going to give some kind of social commentary since it was hinted at (or at least in my memory it was), but then nothing was done about it later in the series. In short, the drama was shallow but had potential to be better than it was.

i tried watching both and both had promising descriptions so i was sad (both times) when the plot wasn't that strong and i quit watching them halfway through the dram... buti liked the idea of high society but the main couple was uGHHH (even tho i kinda of like Uee's character but I was so disgusted by the way she was treated by that family, which also made me wanna stop watching) the secondary couple however was lovely, I like them a lot (+ hyungsik is <3)

the description of this new drama does sound kinda of interesting so i hope they will be better @ plot writing + mostly ROMANCE WRITING, don't mix two ppl who don't match + no unappropriate couple....

Didn't watch Doctors because medical dramas do not appeal to me at all. As much as I like PSH, I was not forcing myself to watch Doctors after I just finished watching Pinocchio. High Society had so much promise but was so disappointing, it was just terrible. The only saving grace of that trainwreck was Hyunshik and his glorious self.

If this drama is gonna be just as terribad as her previous dramas then I am gonna have to give it a hard pass >_>
