Yehana is Yewon, right? These new names keep throwing me.

At first I was like O_O with Siyeon's name until I realised it's basically the same name spelt differently.

I'm looking forward to their debut. I am curious about their sound. I loved their Adore U cover and would be perfectly happy if they were a female seventeen but I feel like that's not the concept they will be going for.

I have a hard time pronouncing Kyulkyung, so that's one I wouldn't have mind if it end up being Pinky hahaha but I'm not complaining.
I have the same problem with a lot of kpop idols because the names are written to read it as if english is your first language which makes things more difficult to me and I'm pretty sure I say a lot of their names wrong until I hear it pronounced on a show.

There is a date for the debut? I don't know if I missed the news or there is still not.

And omg! pretty much all of them are almost more than 10 years younger than me O_O Feeling like a grandma right now.

what's your native language? kyulkyung can also be romanized as kyeolkyeong, maybe that's easier? the 'u's aren't pronounced as 'oo' but as short 'o's idk i'm bad as explaining these things lmao.

It's spanish and I think I'm getting what you mean lol Sometimes I have to look at the names written in korean because even that way is easier for me (I tried to at least learn how to read korean and in these cases is really useful).

Same! Seeing idols born after 2000 makes me feel so old, lmao. I could ignore it as long as it begun with 199- but now 200- are coming up a lot more in groups I enjoy and I can't stop thinking that they're 10 years younger than me and already on this life path :')

i guess because shannon williams is already well-known they went with sungyeon, plus she went by sungyeon on girl spirit as well.

yeah for s/xiyeon the only thing that's changed is the english spelling! everything else is the same.

Yep it's surely linked with Shannon Williams, Sungyeon will be easier. I don't think any well-known idol use this as stage name yet? I only see Seungyeons while googling the name.

my only complaint [BESIDES WANTING KYULKYUNG AS PINKY BUT its fine honestly i get it i just... moving on] is that having a yehana + a yuha, and a roa and a rena in the same group it's not a good idea bc it could get confusing to the public/nonfans? i alr forgot who yuha is..... anw my fav new name from all of these is rena! it's rly cute!

im sad it seems they're gonna debut in march maybe even april(?) since they keep pushing it back... idk if march is a good idea since so many "high" tier groups r coming back but maybe it is? because fans of other groups might watch their stages that way idk! im trying to stay positive and not think about when svt is gonna comeback either since pledis is so damn disorganized.

I like the names, they are pretty, but Yuha, Roa, Rena sound similar in my ear (maybe because they all end with an -a), I'm gonna need some time to distingiush them/connect the names with the girls.
I still hope that Kyulkyung and Sungyeon will hold on to Pinky and Shannon (unofficially), I really like both names...especially Pinky, it suits her so much.

I'm excited we got all their profile shots within 2 days, hopefully Pledis will release other stuff in the same tempo. Mid-March seems so far away :o

she didn't really change her name, "pinky" was just a nickname she used years ago when she appeared on one of seventeen's pre-debut live streams, it was never official. it's shorter and easier to pronounce for international fans so it caught on but the only ones that call her pinky are ifans, koreans have always known her as "kyulkyung". even her members rarely call her pinky these days.
