omonatheydidBrown Eyed Girls celebrates their 4,000th day on February 12th.
Let's remember their journey!
Their debut song was "Come Closer" in 2006, back then they debuted with a music video where none of they made an appearance. The girls had explained that they were considered 'too ugly' therefore they didn't make it to the video. They also debuted as a 'faceless' vocal group- not idols, reason why their first release was a ballad.

The girls had explained that they were considered 'too ugly' therefore they didn't make it to the video. They also debuted as a 'faceless' vocal group- not idols, reason why their first release was a ballad.
Later on they released "Hold The Line" (which samples "Push The Button" by British girl band Sugababes and "Technologic" by Daft Punk). "Hold the Line" was disclosed across the world because it was included in the list of songs from the game Pump it Up.
After a short break, the group went back into the studio to work on their second album Leave Ms. Kim (떠나라 미스김), which included their R&B title track "You Got Me Fooled" (너에게 속았다).
With "LO.V.E." they scored their first No. 1 song and also became one of the top hit songs in the first half of 2008.
In 2009 they took Kpop world by storm, snagging awards at music shows and year end music awards with "Abracadabra". The sexy hip dance became a national dance with a lot of fellow celebrities doing a parody of it.

They followed Abracadabra by releasing "Sign", one of my personal favorite releases.
They returned two years after with the song "Sixth Sense", released in a sort of 'diss' to other groups and to make the public understand music can also be felt through more than just the ears and eyes, thus the title of the song.
In 2012 they became the first girl group in Japan to have a 19+ Rated concert with ‘Tonight 37.2 °C‘,
They returned in 2013 with their single, "Kill Bil", one of the best music videos in kpop.
Their latest come back was in 2015 with the album Basic. The music video for "Brave New World" was influenced by Aldous Huxley's novel Brave New World, the futuristic theme got picked up through time traveling in the music video as well as the idea of a dystopian state through the lyrics.
This year marks their 11th anniversary, currently everyone's busy with their own projects but let's hope they return soon with a new album. Technically they return every two years so this year is the one for a new album.
