I think it's shorter than other groups, good for them, their hard work paid off

I remember reading a while ago that Fiestar still hasn't paid back their debts and they debuted in 2012...

I feel naive for thinking they would've paid it off already

tbh I thought they would've paid it off sooner bc they're everywhere
hopefully this means they can get a proper and we'll deserved rest

dear god how little are they actually making to put toward the debt (and how much is that damn debt?) because this seems pretty ridiculous

and makes me feel even more sorry for the ones who never do see a real penny of their efforts.

Grrrls get that won!

In all honesty this is an amazing achievement, I'm happy for all their success and hope that they will continue to thrive

congrats! I know how popular they are but i dont really know their actual paying gigs (cf, concert, etc) so i thought this is quite fast. but judging from omona reaction, it apparently is not?

What's the typical trainee debt payment length like? 2 years out from your debut seems incredibly fast, especially considering this includes payment for the debt and other costs like events and productions (music production, performances, MVs, performance outfits, dormitory fees, etc.)

Either way, get money girls! Now you get to collect that check for yourselves!

yeah like even at disbandment most groups wouldn't have paid their debt off. yg/sm/jyp don't make trainees pay for the costs or training. don't know about other big companies but like you'd hope those who have a lot of backing behind them wouldn't put their employees in debt.

...YG, JYP and SM don't charge their trainee's for training costs? I never knew that. Do you think they try to compensate that by taking a bigger chunk of the profits later on?

since these companies already have successful groups and businesses they can afford to cover the costs of training. it's an investment, because in most cases the groups from yg/sm/jyp will do well and earn money.

i always read that they don't have debt but then again the people who say that didn't really give a source so oop @ me. after looking for stuff about sm apparently you have debt if you debut but if you're a trainee and don't debut you don't have debt. regardless i feel like an sm's artist debt would be paid back pretty quick lol i don't think it's something they'd have on their mind tbh...

I thought Soshi took 3 years to pay back their trainee debt? I think SM doesn't make you pay if you fufill your contract (whether you debut or not) but once you debut the expenses get added to the group's running tab. SM's groups get a "salary" though thanks to all the lawsuits so maybe that's where the confusion comes from.

Didnt expect it to be this long considering they are so successful with multiply win on music shows and etc.. Looking at this rate, other nugu groups will never able to pay off their trainee's debt forever...

From: [identity profile] lettace.livejournal.com
the debt was either huge or contract terms don't let them make that much
because i really thought that they would be making plenty. they had event after event even during me gustas tu

Omg that's amazing. Get that money.
It makes me sad to think about other nugu groups that never "make it" though.

congrats to them!!! they really hit it big =]

these kinds of articles make me wonder about other groups though.. like if they've paid off their debts, how long it took them, of it they haven't gotten paid yet. like i figure groups like exo, bts, and apink are actually making money now. but how about others like btob, red velvet, etc.

I think recently (like last year) either Joy or Irene said in a message they'd work harder so they could buy their parents a ping pong table or something :(

Good but this whole debt thing is what I hate most about K-pop, training and all other expenses is an investment from a company, they shouldn't be able to use this as an excuse to not pay their employees
