After 2ne1 recent disbandment an old fancam from OMG concert called netizens attention, one of the members crying while singing one of 2ne1 anthems:Ugly ... are her tears related to other netizens calling her ugly since debut?


If you watch the full video, you'll see that she sobbed in the middle of the song and couldn't sing the song properly..ㅠㅠ




One of the related keywords of her name in searching engine is 'Seunghee Ugly', it has been going on since her early debut days and eventhough she has never said it, everyone knows that she gets stressed a lot because of it..ㅠㅠ

Oh great, now my mom also thinks that I have identity issues. They saw me crying while listening to someone sing "I think I am ugly and nobody wants to love me...".

...not always?? It depends where you read. I think general attitudes towards IU have changed a lot in recent years due to her scandals that netizens are more likely to pick thoughts with her. I also think that the general attitude towards her looks are that she is idol pretty not actress pretty.

are you basing your opinions on netizenbuzz or what? iu very much fits korean beauty standards. she has big eyes, a straight nose, fair skin. even after her scandals netizens pick on her body, not her face. ofc she's not considered to be actress pretty but that goes for all idols, even visuals. your comment said that koreans don't find iu pretty period, which is definitely not true.

I mean of course I am not speaking on behalf of all Koreans everywhere because that would be silly and perhaps I should have said in my original comment that " somenetizens don't think IU is pretty.

IU's visuals are picked apart in places. For the record, I think she has a lovely face, but I have read comments saying her features are "flat" or that her nose bridge isn't high enough. Some say she looks like Shin Bong Sun. She doesn't get the same level of heat as someone like Umji but I don't think she is someone who is being sold on her visuals in the same way other celebrities are.

We could debate netizens opinions all day, my original comment was simply alluding to the idea that looking like IU isn't necessary the "netizen shield" that looking like Suzy or Yoona might be.
