I.O.I’s final moments together were filled with laughter and tears.

After their last concert together on January 22, the members of I.O.I went out for dinner along with their families. They were also joined by employees of their agency, as well as staff members who helped form the group on Mnet’s “Produce 101” and beyond.

That day was meant to be a special day just for the members. Everyone got together to congratulate the members of I.O.I, who have been busy with group and individual activities. The managers who told some of the members to leave early because they had scheduled activities the next day were told off by their seniors. The general consensus was, “Just for today, leave them to do whatever they want to do.”

The night began with a samgyupsal (pork belly) party. The members who are old enough even had a few drinks. Lim Nayoung went around pouring drinks out for staff members to show her appreciation for them.

The families of the members also had a good time. Jeon Somi’s father had everyone laughing when he came with a bundle of health drinks for curing hangovers. Zhou Jieqiong’s mother and Kim Sohye’s father were also in attendance.

PD Ahn Joon Young of “Produce 101” and PD Won Seung Yeon of KBS’s “Music Bank” were also there. Won Seung Yeon gave I.O.I their first opportunity to appear in a music show run by one of the three major broadcasting companies. Han Dong Chul, the former department head of Mnet who headed “Produce 101,” was also there.

It finally came time for everyone to leave. All the members started crying as they headed for the door. There were some who cried as they said, “This is our last day together, and we couldn’t even watch a movie together because we’re all busy.”

This was where everyone else stepped in to help the girls out. They gave I.O.I permission to stay in the dorm rooms for one more night, except for a few members who couldn’t possibly cancel their scheduled activities the next day. Thus continued I.O.I’s last night together.

We’re sad to see them go but it’s so great to hear how everyone helped out to make sure I.O.I enjoyed their last moments together for as long as possible!

I'm going to miss the girls together.
Edit: I replaced the Downpour fancam with the official performance.

Who knew 'Pick Me' could be this sad? I'm not ok T__T

I also feel really sad for the Korean fans, I read that apparently YMC will close down the fan cafe after January, what the hell?! It's not like they pay to mantain it, right? That's messed up, let the fans have a space to talk with each other about their favourite group, dammit :'(

I kept thinking "It's good they're lipsynching because vocals would be a miss with all these tears" lmfao don't kill me

Either way I fucking love them and I am a 150% not acknowledging this split. Especially since some of my faves are going back to basic groups TT

You know it's a tragic time when Pick Me has you bawling ;____;

I'll miss this group so much and probably spend the next few years lamenting what could have been. I'm absolutely convinced that even though a few of their careers will go well, they'll never achieve seperately the heights that I.O.I could have reached. Plus you know there's a few members who are just gonna fade into the background of Kpop from now on. Seriously a shame.

I'll be supporting all of them though <3

downpour has become a song that I seriously can't listen to without crying - just the lyrics resonate with me personally and it really hurts and then watching the girls cry because of the song made it worse

I'm gonna miss this group much more than I thought I would

aww man. i'm always going to think what could have been if ioi did not disband. i think they had so much potential as a group. this was so sad. i wish them all the best of luck. they clearly are not happy about being disbanded.

archery paradox, that snake!!! (afaik she didn't give a reason for closing down but people are assuming it's because ioi are disbanding)

What Archery Paradox closed? Shit I loved that site! Didn't something similar happen to one of Pinky's fansites too?

I guess the positive of this whole thing is that this is one of the few times a k-pop group gets a proper disbandment.

i didn't think i would cry, but seeing the girls crying made me lose it... Still feels like Produce 101 was just yesterday, me cheering for my faves, voting for them, following the whole drama... You will be missed I.O.I ))):

This absolutely killed me my goodness. IOI really was THE ultimate GG. I wish the individual companies would come to an agreement and let the girls put out an annual song or something. Wishing the best for all the girls!

It's weird but I feel like even with 11 members each and every single girl had a unique identity and brought something different to the table, but with their respective groups (Mina in Gugudan and Yeonjung in WJSN for example), they don't shine as much, even WITH Yeonjung singing 50%+ of WJSN songs... idk

Also how pissed was Sejeong at that confetti preventing her from belting out her last Downpour performance. She looked at Chungha as though she was gonna cut someone lmfao.

i disagree, mina completely disappeared in ioi and she seems much happier with gugudan. same with yeonjung tbh.

So, I completely missed the era of I.O.I. Can anyone update me on the group, why they're splitting up, etc? If they're as good as everyone seems to think, I wanna be able to support them in their new groups but... I don't really understand the concept of a girl group that was designed to be split up...

companies sent a bunch of their trainees to be on Produce 101 and the top 11 get to debut in a group managed by YMC for a year. I guess nobody expected the show/the group to be as popular as they are. Most of them were trainees who already had groups to go back to anyway and I guess were trying to gain popularity by going on P101.

From: [identity profile] sacryde.livejournal.com
Ah, okay that really makes sense! It's such an interesting idea, but I guess they had to do that to make the groups stand out in the oversaturated market that Kpop has become. Thank you for the information. I'll have to look into these girls so that I can support them when they debut in their official groups.

Aww, all of the videos were removed. But I suppose it will make me even sadder if I watch.
