The music video is stunning, truly nailing the Wong Kar Wai influence, and I kinda agree with you about the song, while I actually like the music I feel like it is missing something in the beat that makes it fall a bit flat.
The MV is visually really appealing. Anyone else getting a seedy/red light district-esque vibe off of this? The murder bit came out of left field. The song is lacking something but the first part of the chorus is already stuck in my head so I'll probably give this another listen
Hmm. This entire aesthetic and music flavor feels about a year too irrelevant. Idk. This would've slayed me last year. The video is heavenly tho. Wong Kar-rai would be proud.

if this was sung by some midlevel group and not suzy, it would sink immediately 100%. it's not bad but it's also not very exciting or memorable. suzy is v. pretty tho, i'm rewatching for her face alone
i'm not sure i like the song as much as i do the fact that she could've played it safe and easily gotten #1 but instead chose to go for something this bold for her debut
also why were there 2 bodies in the bathroom at the end? figured the guy was in the tub, who's the second laying on the floor?
The video makes the song but that's not to say that the song is bad. It's just that the video is the most captivating of the two. Those were 4 minutes well spent.
I actually really like this. Idk, lately I've been really enjoying songs that are more about the instrumentals than the vocals and this really does it well. It's like something you can mindlessly have on two in the morning when you stumble in home after a long night out and can't quite yet go to sleep. Or at least the the vibes I'm getting.
Mainly however, I'm all kinds of here for the Wong Kar Wai aesthetic because he's film aesthetics are legitimately my fave! Super nostalgic and bittersweet.
I really only carried on listening to the song for the video because I'm a Wong kar wai fan girl and love the references to Fallen Angels and Chungking Express.

Ngl in the first I listened to the song just I liked it, but the more I listen to it the more I love it, it's really growing on me and I keep humming to it.
i'm also gonna add that this is very WKW. which i'm ofc not mad about. but jyp solos mvs are always stunning visually. i remember fei's (although the plot is icky). the song is whatever. i like pretend tho. so i'll give her album a listen (yes?no?) maybe.
Her voice is thin by nature so the thinness of the arrangement just makes the whole thing sound very flat. It really needs...just more LOL more everything.

I see what they were going for with the MV, but the song is not 'strong' enough for that
