Reading the title of the song at #3 and then the title of #2 makes me LOL. Every week I go through the charts for this Friday in the past and post the top three songs. Then, I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we’ll check out the top tracks in the 3rd week of January, 2009.

#3 Bobby Kim “Love…That Guy”
I don’t remember this MV, but this is the song I identify with him the most. I feel like it’s one of his most popular tracks.

#2 Lyn “Love…It’s All Lies”
I remember this MV! I always thought she looked so lovely in that black lace dress. Anways, why didn’t she have a lawyer present? That detective was really losing his shit. I also really liked all the furniture in the interrogation room/office lol.

#1 Girls’ Generation “Gee”
This was EVERYWHERE there was no escape omg. I can’t hear this song without the fanchants ringing in my head, even in the MV I could hear the fanboys’ screams lol. This is still so much fun, I’ll fucking bust this song and choreography out anytime anyplace idgaf.

Honorable Mentions

#5 Seungri “Strong Baby”
Although I’ve always thought it was fun (forever doing the “crack crack crack crack” hand thing), it wasn’t until the MADE era that I really liked it. His solo stages on the tour were really good! Like, I feel he finally grew into the song, if that makes sense. Anywhos, both he and GD look 12 in this MV.

#9 After School “Ah”
I remember everything about this debut! Those outfits, the choreo, the debut stage, and being called “Korea’s Pussycat Dolls” (OMG remember the Pussycat Dolls?!?). I still don’t like the song very much though lol. I miss Bekah.

i remember when after school debuted, i was so thrilled that we would get a k-version of PCD (i still love them!!!)

strong baby is still my jam but looking back its super cringey now, and he was only 18 back then, man.

Yeah, it's kinda mindblowing that he was only 18 then - not only looking at the sole content but kinda which 18 years old boy group member would now come out with solo stuff and win multiple times on music shows? Pretty much no one. Certinaly also nobody would come out and thank themselves like him lol

I love Gee. I think its the song that really skyrocketed the girls into the spotlight. And AH. OMG I MISS AS.

I know how much the girls hate Gee, but I still love it and still love seeing them perform it (even with no energy). It's the song that got me into kpop and made SNSD my favs (and Hyoyeon my bias)

#justiceforafterschool maybe I should just be prepared for legendary ggs to get shafted, between them, 4minute and 2NE1

GEE GEE GEE GEE BABY BABY BABY

You can't think of SoShi and not think of Gee :3 But nothing will beat the superior Genie \o/

Ugh, I will never not be bitter over After School. I loved their debut and they had so much potential but things just did not work out for them OTL

i wish the girls didn't perform gee all the time bc they look miserable performing it now so that's what i associate it with

but gee is a classic and whenever it comes on in the car i jam out to it

I remember Gee was when Allkp*p started kissing their asses when they had called them plastic sluts previously and even had an article saying hyo was a man

Gee was one of the first songs i actually brought before I got into Kpop. I remember a few years ago we showed my niece the video and she loved watching this over and over she even learned the dance. I don't know how many times we watched it with her then watched her dance. (Sad my niece got older and doesn't do it anymore, she used to watched running man with me :( )
