According to a user on Twitter:

In January 2016 JYP had approached WG and stated that due to the management levels they may not be able to provide properly to WG due to many staff joining TWICE when TWICE was formed. JYP had stated that they would compensate WG for the lack of management by giving them more earnings through their sales. There was an agreed plan around this time that during WG's 10th anniversary the group would "disband" and members would move onto their separate ways in Feb 2017. This agreement that was made in 2016 was based off of their Reboot album which didn't do as well as expected. However, with their comeback with "Why So Lonely" and the unexpected success, members of the Wonder Girls noticed that it would be a better idea to stay together as a group of four, and are now negotiating with JYP what they can do as Wonder Girls now have some leverage. In addition, one of the oldest and the youngest members of WG (Yeeun and Sunmi), have been making their own negotiations with other companies to find a new company that will be able to manage and sign all members of WG (to keep WG) if they do end up leaving JYP.

Source is reupload from original tweet, which was taken down. Can't find out where the OP got their info from, but knowing how Kpop works this is all very plausable. I hope the girls can make it work because WE NEED MORE MUSIC FROM THEM.

JYP(e) is a mess at this point. How many other acts are waitin for some work (Bernard, G. Soul, Jimin, The remains of Miss A)? I wonder if the whole meetings they are having now are even to stay with JYP. With the group's picture having been taken down from their usual spot on the building, I'm almost certain the group is done with the company and likely were looking at options as well as getting rights to their name and music. K pop has always been very upfront with the out with the old in with the new mentality, but that has also deaded some groups that were still viable. You see SM out here making sure they can squeeze the life out of (almost) everyone of their acts and they have a giant roster.

ia. i think even the other ppl who released stuff recently in the past year had to produce their own songs. i feel bad for jimin & bernard who won kpopstar and doesn't get the level of promotions as other contestants.

i'd like for them to stick together but this is completely different from what i heard by a c-wonderful. sunmi wants to stay in jype, yeeun and yubin want to leave and hyerim wants to focus on her studies. we'll see, i guess

do you know what the staff does? like, is it a stylist per girl or something, and then other roles? I'm very curious because wow, 25, gosh that's a lot

praying this is true!!

but it's ridiculous that jyp as one of the biggest entertainment companies in korea isn't able to provide staff to one of their most successful girl groups or other artists for that matter.

What? So they pretty much refused to hire them more management after previous management ran to Twice? Yikes. I won't pretend to be a know it all, but that just sounds like utter bs to me. Either way, I hope they find another company to take them on as a group, so they can run far away from JYP's mess.

This was floating around Twitter a few days ago and I didn't make a post because the source was unconfirmed so it's basically gossip.

However it's believable gossip. I just want what's best for the girls. And if they are planning of axing the group at least give us a farewell tour or 'best of' album. One last promotional cycle. Something! I WANT TO GIVE THESE WOMEN MY MONEY

I'm also quite curious how this is going to affect Yenny's new show on MBC when it starts airing in February.

All I got from this is Reboot didn't do as well as expected in 2015? I had no idea. My favorite album from them tied with Wonder World.
