I'm so happy for Minzy! I hope she does well, having been debuted for like 8 years but having little variety experience is going to be a challenge for her. She would have made a great cast maknae I admit I'm more confused about the Somi casting than I'm letting on
I don't know Chaeyoung or Yewon but hooray for older actresses getting spotlight! I think they'll be good. I'm definitely excited for Hong Jinyoung

Basically it'll be hard to live up to season 1 but I think this cast has a good chance, to be honest, especially with Sook and Jinkyung returning.

I'm hoping that Somi being Somi will get Minzy to feel comfortable and open up more, Somi's pretty much guaranteed to be the most ott and Minzy not having to be the maknae might give her more freedom

I like this cast, I wish they would have been able to keep going with the original cast for longer (like most of the male majority casts), but I also like that this gives more women the opportunity to be in a women majority variety space...hopefully this will work and more channels will be inspired to have shows like it

i'm currently watching season 1 and i feel tifanny and hyorin dont follow the rest of the older cast sense of humor (yes, they have good chemistry but age gap affect their all puns and jokes references)

so ..... i guess minzy and somi will be maknaes this time, idk if this even bigger age gap would make things better or worse

i remember in the first season, it was a bunch of mature, fairly well-known entertainers who'd worked for a long time to get to where they are now, and their regrets over what they missed from working so hard over all that time, the other dreams they'd given up, and it just won't have the same impact from somi? like, i'm sure she's worked very hard, especially to place 1st in p101, but it's not been the same amount of time, the girl is not yet 16, so idk, she's adorable, but idk how well she'll fit in with the tone/purpose of the show

Sixteen. She got a lot of screen time and almost made it into Twice. She build an important (and crazy) fandom then, even if she's not the most talented girl, because she's ready for variety (loud, always ready for something, etc) and pretty.
You can see that she was the most popular girl during the first P101 episode and stayed among the favourites. Being in IOI brought her even more fans and recognition.
Basically her popularity is a mix of her being entertaining at variety and the usual fandom craze.
