some cool facts: shinee (when including both group and solo wins) are now the artist with the most awards taken home at the gdas with seventeen in total. (super junior and snsd are tied for first and second with nineteen each.) they've won five disk bonsangs as a group, and three as solo artists (two for taemin, one for jonghyun). they've also won the inkisang award every year since 2009 (whether it be as a solo act or group) with the exception of years that the show either didn't air (2011) or that they didn't release anything during (2012).

before anyone asks about why only minho attended: shinee was originally scheduled to attend as a group... up until midnight yesterday when sm edited their schedule saying only minho was going to attend. so, naturally, shawols were both confused and pissed. jonghyun's tweet implies that it may be because of how busy they are with prep for their japanese tour (which starts in two weeks) which i believe!! to an extent but others also think sm may be throwing a hissy fit behind the scenes about some STUFF.

oh no. all of that was fandom fodder, imo. like i believe jjong when he alludes to them being busy with concert prep, but both onew and key made mentions to the show like they were attending less than a day before sm edited their schedule to say only minho was. so, it was obv a last minute decision and it's kind of odd for them to send minho when they could have sent taemin, right? anywhoo, some people were speculating that sm may be throwing a hissy behind the scenes @ the gdas for inviting jaejoong to the first day last minute and they used shinee to like ~get back at them because they were the easiest group to pull with a cover up excuse. like it could honestly just be that they were busy but i think there's more to it.

ah ok, i didn't know what to think of it? so i tried not to think of it at all. and yes! i saw the tweets/instagram posts/videos about onkey mentioning gda and voting

and lmao if it's really bc of jaejoong being invited to the first day...like...thats really unbelievable levels of petty, granted i can see sm totally doing it, but still. what a petty company. i mean if i had organized the event, i would've put shinee's popularity award on the first day and jaej's on the second day just so i could see jaejoong/shinee together again but lmao, that would've never happened - seeing how sm hid away their three artists when jaejoong came on stage for the first day

proud of shinee!! shawols and shinee worked hard to get that inkisang and i'm glad it worked out ;; and yaaay @ shinee + taemin getting that well-deserved bonsang with those outstanding album releases last year (though ppl seem to refuse to realise the greatness that is the she is album but ok.....)

minho seemed rlly sorry to the fans and seeing minho accepting these awards filled with pride and thankfulness to shinee world, that made all my anger of yesterday aka that sudden schedule change go away (it's stupid but i just wanted to see ot5 get that award we voted so hard and passionated for) and just be happy with these events of today ^^

as for the big why this happend...beats me, i'm seeing all kinds of theories; events of gda day 1, sm just being sm, jat tour practicing or related (jp shows/photoshoots/vcr) etc. idek, just gonna trust jjong on this one i guess! hopefully minho gets back safely to japan and gets some rest <3

OP, I think we're on the same page with that "STUFF" aka Jaejoong because I thought the same thing. But why punish SHINee for that? All their other groups were there and EXO has the biggest fandom out of the SM artists attending so.....what is withholding SHINee gonna do? Lol.

Between that and all the other mess Shawols have been dealing with because of these awards, I'm glad it's over. I've never seen this kind of crap being flung at Shinee the way it has been these past couple of months. For a group with such a small fandom in comparison to The Others, I don't get it.

In any case, although I'm more irritated that they made Minho go by himself when he could have just stayed with the rest of them, congrats to SHINee and Taemin. And all the love to Minho, he worked so hard. It's weird, he does a lot of schedules by himself, but seeing him alone he kind of looked out of place? I would have loved it if Jonghyun had gotten one or any award for She Is because it truly is a fantastic album, but I'll finally put it to rest.

i kinda mentioned it above but: i figure that if sm was pulling a hissy fit behind the scenes shinee would've been the easiest to pull out of the ceremony because they have an excuse for them not being there: say that they're too busy practicing as a whole for jat. plus withholding them cost them two performances: one from shinee and one from taemin.

it'll be over on thursday for the most part, i think. they're still not confirmed for the smas - despite the fact that they're def winning the inkisang there too so shawols are prob gonna be pissed there too, plus there's the entire thing with taemin and the gaon awards but i just. but, ia. like minho does a lot of individual schedules but i think this is the first time he's went to an award show to accept something on shinee's behalf by himself? i remember taemin did something similar at some style icon show early last year and he was kind of awkward about it too. (and u kno i feel the same about she is bUT.)

re: the gaon awards. tl;dr: taemin had the best selling album of the first quarter of last year so he was supposed to get the q1 album award based on that. they release noms like two weeks ago and say they changed the rules so that the first six weeks of sales are what is counted for accumulating data for each quarter, regardless of when the album was released during the quarter. got7's turbulence mini was released the last week of q1 but their first six weeks sales exceed taemin's so if the rules are really changed got7 gets it instead of taemin (despite the fact that most of their sales came from q2, technically). it's confusing but shawols were pissed lol i guess it messed with a lot of expected digital winners too, like dream.
