omonatheydid“Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo” healed the hearts of its viewers as it followed the dreams, aspirations, and love of youths. But it wasn’t just the viewers the drama comforted. Actress Lee Sung Kyung, who was the main female lead of the drama, gained a lot of positive energy during the filming process.
The actress stated, “I couldn’t watch the last episode because I was crying. Watching the drama when it aired, I sobbed because I was so sad it was ending. When we were nearing the end of filming the last episode, the director kept saying things like, ‘We have two cuts left,’ and ‘This is going to be our last scene,’ and that made me cry again.”
She smiled as she added, “I’ve cried twice working on a drama, and it was this one and ‘It’s Okay, That’s Love.’ Both were dramas meant to be healing for viewers. Usually, I’m pretty calm and able to keep the tears in, but I cried so much at yesterday’s wrap-up session. When I woke up, my eyes looked like sausages. It looked like when Bok Joo had a pimple.”
Stating that she had never received so much love before in her career, Lee Sung Kyung said, “I’ve never received this many articles supporting me in my life, and it made me wonder if something like this will ever happen again. In the beginning, I really wanted to be praised and have a nice article written about me, and having that become a reality makes me tear up. Viewership ratings aren’t important to me. I’m so grateful and so lucky.”

- when taekwon climbed back up the makeshift rope when joonhyung got caught because me!! i would leave behind a comrade and feel no type of way
- when joonhyung took bokjoo to the club and was like an energised puppy
- that scene when everyone dropped what they were doing and tried to save bokjoo from running into joonhyung brother
- when the girls were singing bb at karaoke
- omg when the dad and the uncle cornered joonhyung and the dad wasn't making any sense and the uncle had to pull him aside and tell him to stop acting irrational
- when the weightlifting club rallied together for their coaches
- this is really minute but way back in the beginning when bokjoo saved the freshmen weightlifters from being picked on by the gymnasts
- lol the scenes with jisoo
omg there's so much more but like, also just every scene by a handful that were questionable basically lol. i love this drama so much.

1. the foot warmer scene, the way JH says 'please' and their eyes convey so much emotions w/o them having to say anything much <33333333333333333333333333
2. JH - oppa jisoo - BJ scene. i still watch the cuts video and i always laugh seeing JH gets jealous! XD
3. the water splash scene. i was about to roll my eyes, here we go again, so cliche. but then i was like 'WHAT' lmao

- When JH is trying to put himself forward as a guy who would love a girl who does weightlifting on their drive to the beach, and BJ is all, "SEAGULLS!!!"
- Or when JH answers that any guy should be feeling lucky to have a strong girlfriend that can take care of herself when BJ gets insecure about her hands, as opposed to pulling some bullcrap that ~even strong women are in need of protection~ or whatever
- When BJ got drunk and JH tried to carry her home, failed, covered her with a newspaper when she got cold, then resorted to driving her home in a shopping cart (plus the line, "My mom would be so proud of me if she saw me now", bahaha)
- The epic "save-the-girl-from-the-water-splash" fail + subsequent scene when JH thinks he's going to get kissed but receives a sneeze in his face instead
- The rooftop apology + cuddle scene (I especially love that when he was practicing his apology before she came he was trying to act all aloof and cool, but when she was actually there in person he became earnest and vulnerable - or that he had to practice period, and almost got caught lmao)
- When her dad chews him out as potential boyfriend material and then immediately flips to chewing him out for him NOT being interested in BJ when he reassures her that they're just friends
- When JH goes around touting to random strangers how awesome his girlfriend is (and also how he immediately assumes that SHE is embarrassed of HIM, like it's completely inconceivable for things to be otherwise)
- When they go clubbing and BJ goes crazy on the dance floor, and instead of being embarrassed JH goes along with her antics while making sure she doesn't randomly ram into strangers with her flailing
- Every time they resolve a conflict by talking about it instead of just waiting for a new plot twist to magically move them along in their relationship
- Every time they're being considerate of each other, even when they're mad at each other
- Every time JH freaking looks at her ISTG

- Joon Hyung's long ass legs sticking out from under the bed and Shi Ho finding him
- every time the "WHAT!" sound bite was used
- Joon Hyung describing to Bok Joo's dad why he likes her
- Bok Joo being embarrassed about her hands but Joon Hyung is like so what I'll imagine it's like an acupuncture massage (if the subs I read were right)
- when their relationship got discovered by their friends
- Joon Hyung telling Tae Kwon he thinks Bok Joo is sexier bc she's so strong
I realize I mostly chose scenes from after they became a couple but like in my mind those over power their friendship phase BUT I loved those moments as well I just can't think of any right now that stand out over these

They wanted to be alone but got yanked apart because of the dorm curfew and how Joon Hyung was trying to get back to her whille yelling that they'll see each other in their dreams, lmao.
When Bok Joo kissed Joon Hyung to get him to train and work hard for Taeryung and he ran and ripped off his jacket. The best ad-libbed kiss ever.
The scene of them wearing the matching school jackets and they just could not keep their hands off each other.
