What words drove Goo Hara to success?

On the latest episode of Star Golden Bell, MC Ji Suk Jin asked Kara's Goo Hara what words had motivated her during her debut.

Goo Hara said "When Jiyoung and I joined Kara as new members, I heard someone say 'Those two are going to make it? There are so many others that are better, but those two are going to make it?'. I wanted to cry but managed to keep it in."

She continued "I wanted to become successful and then find this person to say to them 'Look at how big I have become'."

The other MCs pressed her to reveal the identity of this person. Goo Hara only responded "It was a senior singer, and that's what made it even more painful."

I'm sure we are all more than happy that Hara is the one who made it!

idk, it's kinda mean to say something like that, but it's kinda the harsh reality. her vocals nor her dancing is descent, so maybe they had other trainees who were better but didn't get chosen, and that might have triggered something in the senior singer?

some people tend to get bitter when they are underrated even though they've got talent, and then someone with average capabilities gets to debut just like that.

but all in all no one deserves to be talked down to like that.

Even if you admit your own faults and shortcomings, hearing someone, especially a senior/respected person, talk like that about you still hurts a LOT. Like rubbing salt on the wounds. I've learned that from experience.

Even if I became a fan of Kara after Jiyoung and Hara joined, I knwo how much of a loss Sunghee's departure has been. Just wishful thinking: What if Sunghee returned and the now 6-member Kara would become much more awesome, having the right mix of cute and fierce?

Kudos to her for using that as an inspiration to suceed! Goo Hara Fighting!

i love you hara but honestly, even if i'm a fan that doesn't exactly cover my eyes from reality. but the thing is, whoever's that person is made a good observation. hara and jiyoung's vocals doesn't exactly stand out, if anything, they're more like filler voices. the only thing she stands out well on the stage is on her dancing, which isn't really anything excellent if we're going for the gold. nicole can dance as well as hara does.
