Not OP but I honestly think this is better than the original and the acoustic version, was just about to comment. I do like BP, but I thought PWF was by far their best release. What can you do, music is subjective...
personal opinion incoming but i don't like bp at all, except jisoo. to piggyback on someone else's comment, i don't like them vocally at all and they have no charm onstage. yge is trying to make them seem ~hard but tbh it comes off like little girls wearing their mom's clothes. suhyun is a much better singer than anyone in bp.
I disagree that YG is trying to make them appear "hard" tbh. I honestly dont think they fit in with the YG image besides half of them rapping and/or sing-talking their parts.
Eh I like their vocals, but that is not exactly what I meant, my question was more of "what do they do so differently that it stands out so much better than the original?". It sounds too similar to be making extreme comments IMO lol
it's obviously a question of preference but imo it stands out because the acoustics are beautifully done, and suhyun is a better overall singer than the girls in BP. listening to roseanne struggle-warble her lines is a lot less pleasant. this post is littered with ppl who feel the same (that it's better) so
i'm looking forward to seeing if they develop but overall BP currently isn't a very good or charismatic group in terms of music or presence so YG's welcome to keep them and let akmu put out superior tunes.
I'd be so down for a song more this style from them, some of the songs after their first album are a little too broadway-ey for me...I hope they release more mature/dark songs this comeback
this arrangement is sooo good, I need a studio version ASAP. Genuinely better than the original. It just feels so natural with less of that tryhard swag typical of (most) YG releases. Don't get me wrong, I love BP's vocals (Jennie especially) but don't always like their delivery.
AKMU always does this, they take a song I have mixed feelings about and rescue it. Case in point, Taeyang's Eyes Nose Lips. It's such an addictive song, but I can't bear his whiny nasal tone or him in general. I must have listened to AKMU's cover a million times, it's almost hard to remember it's not their song.
