Looking back to 2008 K-pop debuts to see how many have stood the test of time.

Peter became a member of the trio One Way (member Chance is part of the producer duo Double Sidekick) who last released music back in 2013.

After her debut she felt she wasn't ready and went back into training. She released a single with Super Junior's Leetuek in 2011 and stared in a number of musicals. In 2015 her contract with JYP ended and she signed with Woolim and released a new single Cry & Blow.

Last released music in 2009 and he hasn't been active since 2010.

Still active and winning awards, these days they focus more on OST's.

Couldn't find any information about what happened after she released her debut mini. [Though this is was made harder because she shares her name with a few other public figures.]

They haven't released new music since 2011 but are still actively performing (mostly at places like the trot show National Song Contest).

He hasn't released any music since 2009 and hasn't been active since 2010 when he stared in a Thai film.

Only really released two single albums; her debut one and then one in 2010.

Still actively promoting particularly with drama OST's.

They somewhat mysteriously disbanded at the end of 2009. Former member Sung In Kyu died in 2013 after a battle with cancer.

I don't really need an explanation right?

He hasn't released any music since this song but he stared in the drama Big Heat in 2011.

Didn't promote for very long but former member Janey later debuted in GP Basic.

Were very active uptill their hiatus which started in 2015.

Underwent a number of member changes and then disbanded in 2011.

Released a few songs before deciding to focus on Japanese promotions. They tried to restart their Korean career in 2012 with a single with thier company CEO Tony An, and they haven't done much since then.

Numerous member changes and a marriage but forever nugu's are still promoting.

Jay Park (Jaebum) was famously kicked out of the band but the band has continued until now and Jay Park has become a famous rapper and producer.

Still actively promoting and now often stars in dramas.

No information on what happened to these girls

2am: most of the members are still doing music. Jinwoon has a rock band and doing variety gigs, Jokwon and Seulong have had solo releases, idk what Changmin is doing, probably still teaching at that university??

2pm: debuted in Japan and have become the breadwinner of jype because of it. Jun. K released a Korean solo this past year, and the group also had a Korean comeback. The members are also active with acting careers.

Sorry op I couldn't help but elaborate.

Thank you. I was going to say that the 2PM members are also producers themselves... not to mention Taecyeon owns his own company, too.

joo has had some good songs over the years. i feel bad that she hasn't been able to perform as well. i remember back in the day allkpop used to trash her hard in their articles smh.

MY BOYS! God, I still listen to Replay so much, it just never gets old. Whenever they sing it at concerts I feel like sobbing. In my heart of hearts I am wishing that they release a 10th anniversary version of the song in 2018 with their improved vocals. *___* I still listen to their earlier songs on a regular basis to this day, and find myself impressed. AND I still love their releases YOU CAN'T LIE, 1 OF 1/1 AND 1 WAS SUCH AN UNDERRATED ALBUM They have aged so well. :')

I need justice for Ayo because they never perform it and it's one of my favorite songs from them. I was watching on YouTube them perform Replay at their past shinee world and I just started bawling my eyes out lmao. They were my very first kpop boy group I listened to back in 2009 so it was so nice seeing how they've improved. Also Shift doesn't get talked about enough because that is a great song on 1of1

Lifted is not a kpop release though, it's an all american, late night show promoted, billboard hot 100 charting SMASH debut single by potential global icon +CL+ available on all streaming services and coming to vinyl in 2038 along with the album. Check your facts!

1of1 (song and video) > Lifted

SMASH actually had decent tracks but their management was so terrible. Same with UKiss. I didn't realise IU came out then.

I remember the hype for AST and then nothing. It was weird.

I still listen to Shinee World album every day. And I mean EVERY day. And Romeo and Y.O.U. No shame in my game.

I mean 'One for me' 'Graze' 'Hit Me' 'Romeo+Juliette' are just golden r'n'b classics that should be worshipped.

PREACH. Those are literally some of my favorite SHINee songs ever released, especially Hit Me and One for Me. Hit Me made me cry the first time I read the lyrics while listening to it.

2009 was the year that started having more and more debuts because that's when Hallyu craze started with it going viral on the internet. I remember 2009 and 2011 as being filled with so many rookie groups.

Thank you!

That's exactly why I asked, haha, so many debuts in 2009. It would surely be a trip down memory lane. To make things a bit easier, I guess you could focus on the more minor and short lived groups, instead of well known ones like 4Min or f(x)? We all know what happened with those after all :P

This is such a coincidence, yesterday out of the blue i decided to watch some older 2pm/2am stuff, the nostalgia was real af!

2am had a little Vlive for their 8th anniversary, about 5 months ago, it was nice seeing how they are all still friendly and close with each other!

(i am not prepared for the imminent military services at all tbh)

Regarding SMASH, they released "I'll Protect You" around the Fall of 2012 before two of the members (Segye & Naru) left the group. They later gained 2 new members (Jun & Byungmin) and released their final jpn single (forgot the name, i'll get back to it lol) before the group disbanded 3-4 months after Jerry got married.

But at least Byungmin and OneShot, who goes by Lucas, are still making music so good for them! ^^

Haha! It's tough finding info on them, but I did it for the team.

I would recommend listening to Get Your Swag On (the mcountdown version) because the MV is so poorly done.

Also, I straight up blame Tony An for their disbandment. They sent them to Japan a year after their debut (they got some attention for the "Never Ending Story" MV because it had T-ara's Jiyeon. It took them 4 years to finally make a Korean Comeback, released 2 songs, gained 2 new members, released their final song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nL-jGg2PhjA), Jerry gets married, and Tony disbands them. F*ck Tony An!

Sorry for the long rant. I just feel bad for them :(

A'ST1: They somewhat mysteriously disbanded at the end of 2009. Former member Sung In Kyu died in 2013 after a battle with cancer.

They disbanded because the members made comments saying they were gonna overtake SuJu, and ELFs went crazy and basically made it so they couldn't promote anymore. I'm super sad about Sung In Kyu though, I had no idea.
