I don't care what people say about her dancing (which I still think is better then the dancing of Tiffany in IJWD or the dancing of Taeyeon in Why, lol), she could dance in circles and I would love it. It is nothing too hard or outstanding but she was never known as a strong dancer, so I am glad she chose something that works for her.
Actually SM wanted to put Sica in the dancing line at first. I mean, let's never forget this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KLwXMrkNcA
Personally I never really understood, why people called her dancing "lazy". I can see that she isn't giving 100% in some performances and she made mistakes in MVs, but all of SNSD did, Sica's mistakes just got pointed out again and again. I mean, she even got the nickname "lazy princess", which isn't very charming, if you ask me. x.x
And lastly - and I think that's very apparent with the rest of SNSD now too - when you've to repeatedly dance the same choreos over and over again (like "Gee" and "Genie" and "Oh!"), then you'll get bored eventually.
Exactly! I always like to point people to that video when they complain about her dancing, lol.
Thing is - even though I have a soft spot for Sica - I'll be the last person to deny that her dancing got sloppy along the way but the fact that people like to magnify her sloppy dancing when you have Taeyeon (it is so obvious in everything when she doesn't feel like it/want to) and Tiffany (She really tries I guess, bless her) flopping around the stage is beyond me.
What bothers me even more is when people like to pretend that Jessica was the only one bored/uninterested on stage when this (https://youtu.be/Z1B4GrnNj1Q?t=45) and this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Wrd2JVUcJU) clearly proofs otherwise.
I sound like such a bitter SNSD anti. I love all these girls, I have since their debut but they are all clearly over being in SNSD/performing their old songs and the only reason they stick around is because the brand name gives them enough leverage for their solo work.
lol...don't worry. I don't think criticising makes you (or me or anybody) an anti. I mean, I loved SNSD (I'm not following them anymore, because - well - my bias is not in the group anymore), but that doesn't mean that I've to love and praise everything they do and say. I've and will never understand the mindless staning that so many fans practice.
Sica's dancing was sloppy in a lot of performances and so was the dancing of the other members. I've no problem admitting that and that doesn't make me love her less. It's just the way it is...idols are human like us. They've good and bad days. Nobody can always give 100%!
Dude, I love watching her dance. IDK what is about it but there's something about it that looks so effortless and smooth that makes it really attractive to look at.
i love it! she looks amazing, i like the choreo and the english version sounds good, too! watching this video made me realize that shes a much better solo artists than a girlgroup member.
she's always had the skill (well rounded at vocals/dance but not the best) but years of being a top girl group member gave her the confidence & know-how to be a great performer on top of that. edit: I'm glad she didn't stop performing cus girl has come so far since her rookie days.
