Synopsis: Bok-joo is a weightlifter who is pursuing her dream of winning the gold medal but she then finds romance for the first time in her life. While she is a women who trains with heavy steel weights, she is also very feminine when it comes to relationships. To focus solely on weightlifting would jeopardize her relationship but leaving her weightlifting career for love would keep her from attaining her dreams. Can she find a way to have love as well as glory at the age of 20? The characters within this drama are elite athletes in weightlifting, swimming and rhythmic gymnastics who work hard to reach their goals in life. It covers their coming-of-age stories and relationships through hectic life.

Then, the hair clip-scene. I was not happy with how JH handled that. We know he's impulsive and gets obsessed with things easily and I understand that the hair clip isn't really something he wants to see, but it'd be easier to just buy her a new one without pulling it out of her hair.
At least BJ shut him down.
Si Ho actually getting to complete her arch was good. I really liked how she and JH were able to bond again,
and most importantly, how OPENLY they talked about getting help from a psychiatrist, and JH actually recommending his doctor.
They're both admitting they're getting help, which is so impressive. I really like how the drama handles mental problems.
Then, of course, the jealousy arch. I love how they handled that. Since it's BJ's first relationship, I think it's only natural that she's upset and feels hurt about JH being so nice to Si Ho. But, since JH is obviously BF-goals, he is still nice to her after he finds out that she's angry, and treats her as nice as he can.
The scene when he puts on the heaters on her feet😍💯
You can see how much she's struggling with being angry with him as well as being so happily in love at the same time.
I must say though, the over-use of "Chubs" as a nickname is getting on my nerves. It's obvious BJ doesn't mind, and she shut down "Piggy" fast enough, but I still think he should call her by her own name :/
And then the confrontation! BJ being upset and JH being so happy that she's jealous since it obviously means she likes him as much as he likes her!
And then he just hugs her until she feels better. Why is he so perfect?
Their mock-argument about the hair clip-again and the following hug-session again was perfect.
My heart cannot handle all this cute!! The scene with them meeting Si Ho the next day with JH drawing a heart on her coat..
We obviously did not get all the scenes from the last preview though. There was no confrontation between the three musketeers about BJ♥️JH that was in the preview. Nor was there a couch-hug, which they even had as a preview-scene IN the episode. I guess no episode 14 made them change the editing?
DID ANYONE SEE EPISODE 14 PREVIEW THOUGH? I didn't want to, but I saw gifs on tumblr and... I CANNOT. WHY IS EPISODE 14 NOT AIRING UNTIL NEXT WEEK??

Date: 2016-12-29 05:04 am (UTC)anyways unlike other commenters, i personally didn't have any issues with the hairclip scene. besides him yanking it out of her hair which really hurt, to me it was just playfulness which he went abit overboard with. same with the calling her chubs thing. he obviously calls her that out of affection and not cause he wants to spite her or thinks she's really fat and unatttractive. besides she has never really honestly minded the nickname. i dont think every single action in a relationship that isn't an obvious "positive" at first glance is some sort of intended aggression/malice towards the other party.
i liked that shiho managed to "close off" her part of the story and wanted to start afresh and i liked how she apologised to JH and wanted to be friends.
i will probably say this a million times but JH is seriously the best boyfriend ever. i dont even think i've seen any couple ard me that has a guy behaving this way to his partner. also, i totally can unds BJ's jealousy over JH and Shiho and how she felt hurt but didnt want to come off childish. i was exactly like her at her age lol so those scenes really brought back memories
im glad they dedicated an entire episode to the couple having fun and enjoying their honeymoon phase. but aren't there some more story arcs to close off? I'm personally really interested in JH's arc with his aunt/uncle and him finding his mum + his start trauma. I really wanna see BJ be there for him in difficult times.

Anyway idk today's episode had many (many!) cute moments and I get that it's BJ's first relationship but it made me realize that actually BJ isn't really that great at communicating, it's all been JH. I got a little annoyed at her being like "I won't tell you, you figure it out on your own." I don't understand why she won't tell her friends either, esp considering the fact that they had that crying makeup session on the roof and I thought they were gonna tell each other everything from then on. She is really cute when she whines tho lol
I'm very glad Seon Ok is back! Now we need more time with her and Tae Kwon. Her gushing over Coach and uncles relationship with Nan Hee was cute too.
Is swimming off season during the winter or something, bc why doesn't JH have any more competitions lol. I was in swimming in high school and I'm pretty sure there was a winter season.
Also I was annoyed that JY was like "let's date" to Dr. Go but I'm glad she shut him down right away. They should not be a couple. Also what the heck at JH telling his hyung that men and women can't just be friends right after he agrees to be friends with Shi Ho again.
Very happy that Shi Ho got closure and that she's willing to go to a therapist. It's nice that they're talking about it so casually. I just wish she could have said something about how her mom handled what happened bc that was her biggest source of pressure/stress. Like an offhanded comment would be fine too
Looks like ep 14 will also not be about Jh's trauma. Drama, don't drop the ball on this one. Don't make him go to Canada plz

Also, of course BJ is the main character so most scenes should be focused on her, but how is it that JH doesn't have ANY competitions since he had a cold in.. episode 6? Like even the brother is wondering why he has time to come over.
Of course it'd be hard work to shoot too many scenes in a pool, especially since they're using body doubles for the competitions.. but I mean.. how much time hasn't passed by since ep 6?

Siho had so much going on mentally and physically, I'm surprised that it was the pills that took her down. I'm glad that Siho and JH were able to work out their differences, though. It's cute that BJ is jealous, I can understand why, but he's not into Siho anymore. He's made that clear from the beginning and it's not going to change all of a sudden. She has nothing to worry about.
I want Seon Ok back, she makes the trio complete. I do love the teamwork of the Weightlifters, too, they'd make both coaches proud of their efforts as a team. But seeing how dramatic Coach Yoon is, I see where they all get it from. Goodness. DaeHo omg ....lol. He just went all out. That was Seungeun's moment to be honest with him and herself regarding her feelings for Coach Yoon.
My heart got so full seeing JH make sure BJ was warm and them playing with each other while walking. Where is my bf that'll kick ME in the butt, tbh?! This show STAYS making me want a bae. Then I snap out of it and remember that Onew isn't ready for me yet, lmao (idc idc).

i'm completely smitten with BJ + JH! i haven't loved any k-drama as much as i love WF!!! the last time i watched and loved k-drama was around 9 years ago when coffee prince came out. i'm so glad i decided to watch this drama during my christmas break cause i love it so much! everything about it is perfect!!! idt i've never cried so much for a tv series. i got so emotional so many times, all the story about the family and friendship in this is A+++++
