I mean but, there are several older fans who are more than sensible and trying to corral things to have better organization. like, my side of the Internet for bts has no younger kids at all, and we talk a lot about the music and their funny tendencies and things. Obviously the vast majority of the fans are kids because that was BTS' s target audience for a while, but I mean, every fandom has bad apples right? And if you don't try and improve the reputation, and change the age demographic a little, it will always be weird? IDK, I think there are several overdramatic people who are freaking out over their first fandom and superficial looks, but there are also a lot of very mature people too who are lovely.

I think part of it is being immature and part of it is the way fandom/social media intersect now that makes it really easy for people to antagonize each other and bombard their faves. idk what it is about ARMYs in particular, but a lot of them are quite young (i.e. the actual target demographic of a boy band and not my old ass) and BTS kind of exploded in popularity fairly quickly. Generally when a fandom gets that big that fast, it's going to be a shitshow regardless of the age of the people involved.

it just seems so excessive and unnecessary when you see like 5 comments saying 'omg jimin is so hot (insert sexual act here)' or 'jungkook can f*ck me/(insert sexual act here/do dirty things to me' (and isn't he a minor????) on a REALLY great performance of theirs like they're not objects just as much as girl groups aren't meant to be male-gazey or objectified

People from all fandoms are annoyed when they see comments like 'Army here!' or 'Reminds me of BTS' or 'BTS invented: chokers/concepts/clothes' under every Kpop video and videos not related to Kpop.

Recently a tweet spread that showed Bangtan fans saying that KNK and VIXX fy blogs shouldn't use 'BTS' as one of their tags because BTS belongs to Bangtan - they didn't know it meant behind the scenes.

I'm sure that there are many mature fans in that fandom it's just there are so many bad apples that no one notices the good ones.

After MAMA one Army made Chanel vs Walmart tweet and compared Jimin and Bambam's red carpet outfits, Bambam saw it :/

I honestly don't even remember if this was fans or antis but people have made trending hashtags on twitter that were like #jiminisugly or #jhopeisuseless or whatever (in Korean I believe) and the members ended up seeing/hearing about it. I'm pretty sure K-ARMYs ended up releasing an official "apology" for their shitty behavior a while ago too; there was a post on here about it.

There were "rumors" floating around on twitter that EXO-L bought up a bunch of tickets for BTS's US shows to scalp them/keep other people from getting them but honestly that doesn't make a lot of sense besides the supposed rivalry ARMY/EXO-Ls have
