Amber guested on the December 12 episode of the tvN show “Variety Show Employment Agency” (tentative title).

During the show, Kim Gura asked her, “Have you ever thought of changing your hair style?” Amber has had the same short style since her debut in 2009.

Amber frankly replied, “I’ve been hearing the same question for eight years. Every time I hear it.. [it bores me].”

Kim Gura continued his questioning, saying, “Since your hair is short and your style is really boyish, aren’t people curious about your gender?”

Amber continued her straightforward responses, saying, “I don’t care.”

She continued, “I don’t have an interest in dating either. Every time I go on a broadcast, people ask who my ideal type is. I’ve had boyfriends in the past but now that I think about it, I don’t think I have an interest in dating at all.”

Dang, go in Amber. I love how confident she's become in recent years regarding her style/gender expression and refuses to entertain stupid questions about it anymore.

And whether she's ace or in a place in life where she doesn't feel like a relationship is what she wants, it's great that she knows herself that well.She has a great friends network and her own goals and what more could a person need.

i feel her re: dating. i already feel upset over having to meet with my ex-friends/classmates during winter break, because one of them always tries to embarrass me since i don't date anyone. i usually just shrug it off and change topic, but the last couple of times we met she made sure to come back to it again and again out of nowhere, asking all these humiliating questions like "why don't you like anyone? probably because no one you like likes you back? what are you even doing by yourself?". and whenever i show that i'm uncomfortable talking about this, she lights up like a christmas tree

honestly, i kind of wonder what would happen if an idol comes out of bisexual or lesbian/gay in the k-pop world.

this year, okada nana from akb48 came out publicly on internet broadcast as bisexual then on tv (her own documentary) as lesbian (stating she prefers girls to guys) and generally fans have remained supportive. she ranked high during the elections, does well during handshakes and is ranking in the kouhaku elections prelims.

would kpop fans continue supporting their idols or would the backlash be so strong that she/he/they will be forced to retire/reflect?
