Jang Hyun Seung renews with Cube

On December 13, Cube Entertainment released an official statement regarding Jang Hyun Seung’s contract.

Cube Entertainment stated, “Jang Hyun Seung has signed an exclusive contract with Cube. We will be providing him with lots of support and assistance so that he moves one step forward as a mature artist.”

The agency also spoke about BEAST’s contract negotiations. Cube Entertainment stated, “Jang Hyun Seung’s renewal and BEAST’s contract situation are two different stories. We are continuously offering BEAST proposals and are currently in a position of waiting.”

Meanwhile, BEAST has been in discussion with their agency about a contract renewal since October.

I honestly think it had a lot to do with musical differences (along with personality differences). Junhyung literally started producing everything and it wasn't that great imo.. hyunseung wanted to do different things and he didn't want to be stuck in the musical mold that junhyung was providing for beast. Hence the kind of stuff on his solo album.

i'm sure theres a lot of petty shit and personal beef involved but watevs. i prefer hyunseungs music 100x over whatever beast is releasing now.

this comes as a shock for me, i thought for sure he would leave, after Cube did shit to protect him during the time leading up to his hroup departure and being shady about him in general (always only notifiying fanmeetings at the last minute that he wouldnt participate and always implying it was his fault, not going after that yoseob-akgae who did everything from false rumors to terrorizing hyunseung on his instagram to get him out of the band). And they also only let him promote his solo album for one or two weeks.

Not shocked in the least. They said he left because of musical differences and I believe it. Beast stopped putting out fun songs as much and started putting out more and more ballads & coffee house stuff. He clearly wasn't happy with that and Beast isn't really set up to allow much diverging from Junhyung's production style.

People say Cube didn't promo him enough but they don't really do a lot of promo for anyone and they never did. Still, they gave Hyunseung the type of solo he wanted. Could of put anyone in Trouble maker but chose him. Got him musical jobs.Like, Cube definitely let's their groups drag but on individual levels, they aren't bad with promo. Hyunseung, Yoseob, Junhyung, Doojoon, Gikwang. They were all pretty well promoted outside of Beast. And even then, the promotions for Beast only started to drag like, in 2015. People make it sound like Beast has been struggling for years.
