Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook have both officially confirmed that they will be leaving “Running Man.”

Song Ji Hyo’s agency revealed that the actress has been in discussions for a long time due to the difficulty of juggling variety and acting. In the end, she has decided to leave the show and focus on acting.

Kim Jong Kook’s agency has also revealed that the singer has decided to leave the show, although the timing has not been decided yet.

With two members leaving, many are wondering who will replace them. So far, Kang Ho Dong’s side has only confirmed that they are in discussions to join the show.

According to industry insiders, the popular variety show is looking to revamp in January 2017 for a “Running Man Season 2.”

Uggghh, I had a feeling RM was on its last legs and would likely end at some point in 2017, but with the remaining cast, not a new cast/even less than the remaining 6. I guess JTBC/JTBC2 may be the only channel to see Jihyo and Jongkook on in 2017.

this sucks, I too thought that Song Ji Hyo would stay on until the end. You can tell their rebranding for next year is gonna suck because they picked Kang Ho Dong and he's not funny at all.

Also, if anyone is interested, KJK and SJH's companies just confirmed their departures. JK will be focusing on his own individual activities in the future, while JH will be focusing on her acting. There's no set date "yet" for their departures though they will resume filming next week.

They definitely need to end Running Man before they just drag it out, and ruin its name. Also, I like KHD for the most part (I was a huge 1N2D fan when he was on), but something about him being on Running Man feels fundamentally wrong lol.

Just let Running Man go out in style, and start up a new show. I actually think it might be time to capitalize on the nostalgia factor and bring back some 90's variety shows for a revival.
