VISUALGON PENTAGON is a ten-member boy group formed by Cube Entertainment in 2016. They were introduced through the Mnet survival show Pentagon Maker. The final line-up was to be decided through the show, with only Hui, Yeo One, Hong-seok, Kino, Woo-seok, Jin-ho and Yuto being confirmed as the official members at the end. The group was originally scheduled to host their debut concert on July 23rd 2016, but due to internal issues (aka CUBE being a mess), it was delayed. After 3 long months, they finally made their debut on October 10, with 10 members, including the ones eliminated from Pentagon Maker, E’Dawn, Shin-won, and Yan An.

PENTAGON debuted with their self-titled mini album, with the title track ‘Gorilla’. They hope to “one day be the King Kongs of K-pop” (Hongseok, 2016, ASC)

I hope Cube tries to get them slots on more variety shows for public recognition. They already have a bit of a prejudice against them cause of Hongseok's trainee controversies, some fans of senior Cube groups not really liking them, and people being wary of Cube's management overall, so they'll have a bit to overcome in the Korean public's eyes

What an attractive post! I avoided them at first bc I told myself I could not get into another group but I saw them on ASC and couldn't help but love them and now I'm in too deep.

I got attached to Jinho pre-debut so he remains my fave but my other faves are Shinwon, Yuto, Yan An, and Kino. I'm really warming up to E'dawn lately though, he seems like an interesting person. So most of the group basically lol but I guess I have a soft spot for the eliminated members too. I hope they get more variety gigs soon.

Yeo One caught my attention with the first Visualgon post here on Omona when they were only rumored to be part of a new group. I mean they all look good but Idk there's something about Yeo One. He's on top of my bias list and still wrecking it. And OMG why was I under the impression that he was born in 98? I feel better now. i'm basically giggling and smiling through reading your post as i remember each of their cute facts.

i'm so in love with them right now. they all so lovable, ship-able, and have a great dynamic together.
All of them seems so close to each other and it showed in all their v-app, interview, and variety appearance. maybe due to PM and cube crisis their relationship got stronger.

op i love love love!!! this post so much omg, so glad i caught it before i officially log off the computer for finals week haha. i literally just spent my last week of freedom before finals marathoning all their pentagon maker videos!!

i think it's impossible to pick a single bias in this group lol, they all have a dear place in my heart. at the moment, my top three are probably yanan (he is just so effortlessly hilarious without meaning to be hilarious), jinho (because wow i have unknowingly been stanning him since 2010) and hongseok (because i have a need to support anyone who has been through yg's evilness and made it out after what the company did to my precious 2ne1 - and because i like how much he's matured since entering cube tbh (his fancafe post yesterday !!). also ot, but i just found out he had only trained for two months?? before being put on mix and match?? it made me angry honestly like they were setting him and jinhyeong up to fail from the beginning and i'm glad he didn't give up on his dream)

i think what i like about them the most was while watching pentagon maker, despite being a "survival show", you could really see how much everyone was working towards trying to get everyone to debut as 10. i guess it helped that there wasn't like a limited amount of spots in the group they were competing for/they weren't competing against each other, but you could really see how they were all so supportive of each other (like i'm pretty sure jinho wanted yuto in pentagon more then he wanted himself in, and same with yeo one towards yanan lol). even with hongseok (who tbh i was watching pentagon maker to see how different from m&m he was) - at the beginning i think he had that "i need to survive this show" aspect still in him, but that changed as it went on honestly.

wow this got long, but tl;dr i have a lot of feelings about how much trouble they went through in order to debut and how they all made it out as ten like this.

I only knew Hongseok and Jinho before the show and their debut.
Jinho is my fav <3 but Yeo One was the unexpected one.

I will eventually learn all their names. Since debut Yeo One has been attention demanding, but this comeback seems more ... well thought out? Because more boys are standing out to me. In Gorilla, it was Jinho and Yeo One (and I knew Hongseok).
